“Excellent restored castle”
Reviewed 25 July 2014 via mobile

Even though we had seen so many castles during the years this was truly nice for its views and restored look. It's not too big nor tiring and the views are wonderful.if you're there go there but I would not say its a must see... If you're on the way.

“Best in the evening”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

When all the tourists had left for the day we would walk around the castle in the peace of the evening. It was so beautiful and peaceful, with breathtaking views. Then we'd walk away from the castle and walk back taking in those views. The tour itself was nothing special.

“Tranquil Experience”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

It was pretty secluded when we visited, making it a very peaceful visit. We liked how it wasn't pimped up into a tacky museum. Instead they've restored it sensibly to give us a sense of the turbulent sensibilities of the period that this castle existed. Stunning views of the Dordogne Valley from its higher ramparts too.

“Great Chateau”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

A stunning location with great views of the Dordogne. 3 of us braved the steep climb from the river while the other 2 drove up following the signs and met us at the top! The chateau is being restored but it is still fascinating as are the cluster of houses nestled round the entrance. Good value for money

“Great restoration”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

Well worth a visit to this ongoing restoration project, there is lots to see and explore and the views from the battlements are great over the Dordogne far below. Can get crowded when the tours are on their way round, so if you want to visit in peace, start your way round just before a tour starts.
Cost of parking is the same whether on the outskirts of the village or at the top. The climb up is steep but there are great views of the very old houses.
