This is the best holiday rental we have stayed in. A beautiful house and garden, very clean and well equipped, it's as good as the photos. Set in a peaceful location but close enough to main roads to explore the towns along the Dordogne. We would highly recommend it and hope to return.
La ‘Plassial'—I tried to look it up in my dictionary, but the word doesn’t appear, so I’ll give it my own meaning—‘a little bit of heaven.’ I am sitting at the outside table, surrounded by lavender gardens, roses, the buzzing of a host of bees, butterflies and those amazing ‘hummingbird moths’. The sun is still high in the sky at 9 pm and the view over the valleys is just…. peaceful! If there was a way that we could extend our stay here for another week, or a month, or….forever? we’d consider it a precious gift. And so to the house itself; it is everything that we wished it would be when we were looking at the photos on line. Even better. Everything in the house exudes the taste of the owner—lovely linens, comfortable beds, tasteful furnishings, all the dishes that one could wish for…if one felt like cooking. A dishwasher to wash the few dishes required for a dinner of foie gras, pate, baguettes, salad….and wine. Who would want to go out to a restaurant when such bounty is right here in the daily marchés at nearby villages? An excellent Boulangerie and wine cave right here in Coux. And to be eaten in such a perfect setting. Thank you Carl for creating such a wonderful gîte for us to enjoy.
And I can’t forget the lovely ladies at ‘En Toutes Saisons’—- Sabine, Samantha and Florence who made everything about the booking so easy, and were available whenever we had a question, made bookings for us a restaurants and gave very helpful advice. And who so patiently put up with my atrocious French! Thanks to all of you.
