“great, relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 4 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

Great location to explore the surrounding countryside and towns. Kevin and Andrea made us very welcome greeting us with a bottle of wine and bringing us croissants some mornings. The first few days were hot and sunny and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful pool. We went into St Pardeaux and cycled the disused railway track stopping off for refreshments in one of the villages. We fell in love with Jake, their beautiful dog but they wouldn't let me bring him home! Kevin and Andrea's gites and B&B rooms are lovely and have everything you need in them. The ground are full of flowers and very well kept. All in all a great way to spend a week or two.

“Amazing”
Reviewed 13 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We have just returned from a week staying in this amazing Gite. Everything was perfect. The Gite was very well equipped and decorated lovely, with stunning views. Andrea and Kevin were so friendly and very helpful with everything we needed. A bottle of wine and fresh croissants were provided.
We will definitely be recommending this Gite to others and hope to come again ourselves one day.
A tip: Do visit Brantome, about a 20 minute drive away. Quite possibly the prettiest place we have ever seen.
Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

“Fantastic place people area and weather!”
Reviewed 2 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We had a great time here. The gite was lovely. Very pretty and well epuipped with plenty of linen. A nice bottle of wine on arrival and Kev went to get us fresh croissants one of the mornings. The views are amazing. Lovely mists in the morning and unbelievable sunsets. We had wonderful walks in their grounds through the wood and to the lake. The weather was so good we sat by the pool a few days. There are lots of beautiful places to visit all within easy reach.. We drove from Limoges airport which is only 55minutes away. Kev and Andrea were there if we needed them and very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a great holiday. Ruth and Ian

“Lovely cottage in peaceful location”
Reviewed 5 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed here in September for a week with friends (who had already been there a week before we arrived). This was part of our trip around France in our camper van, and was a welcome break from all the driving.
The cottage is located near Nontron in a very peaceful location with lovely views and amazing sunsets! There are both front and side "patio" areas to catch the sun at any time of the day. It was so restful, most days we didn't leave there until after lunch, returning in the evening for a bbq. Kevin and Andrea are a lovely, friendly couple and were perfect hosts, leaving us in peace but always on hand if we needed anything.
It is a perfect base for touring the area with Brantome, St Jean de Cole and Perigueux particularly lovely - and the markets there very lively.
If we are ever in this area again we would certainly book another break.

“The Other France”
Reviewed 2 October 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This was a less touristic area. Nontron is not too interesting but we found Pardoux
very charming with a fine hotel restaurant. We enjoyed a concert at St. Pierre and local markets and no Americans to be seen.Brantome with its charm and fine eating places was an
easy trip.St JEAN DE COLE IS THE PERFECT SMALL VILLAGE.
The gite was charming and it was a joy to wake up to the horse in the pasture and the distant
pastoral view,
Most admirable were the wonderful hosts, who were so helpful and informative, especially
when we had a medical issue.

“Utterly delightful!”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The photos "sold" this property to me when I was looking for somewhere to stay and the reality lives up to them. The gite is located in a beautifully quiet, rural area and our hosts, Andrea and Kevin could not have been more welcoming! Our stay of 10 days was blessed with scorching weather but the fact that this property has 2 terraces, front and back, means that we could always find shade when we needed it. The pool also is in an area that is slightly raised and therefore catches any nice breeze that's going. There were only the very smallest things to criticise with this property and our hosts were keen to hear of any observations we had to make - namely, they need a sign at the end of their drive as this property is not easy to find. We requested directions (which did not come automatically) but were very helpful, indeed essential. Once there however, the biggest issue we had was that there wasn't a decent sharp knife! So, we bought one and now there is!! All in all, a perfect retreat!

“What a find !”

We literally stumbled across this place by accident on a walking holiday of the Dordogne during last weeks Halloween break.
We called to the main house to inquire if the Gite was available for the weekend. At first they seemed a bit reluctant to offer us accommodation, which i have to confess we thought rather odd!.
It turned out the owners had just moved in and were still setting up the gites to rent. Having our own gites and chambre d'hote business in the Gironde. We fully understood the stress those first few weeks!!!
After seeing the views and realizing our next days 16km hike on the chemin started on the doorstep. We convinced them to rent the 2 bed gite for three nights stay. Next morning after a very comfortable nights sleep. We found 4 fresh laid eggs and hot bread, straight from the oven on our doorstep. With a lovely note welcoming us to Le Puy!
In all our years hiking throughout France and especially the Dordogne. We have never stayed in a nicer area or experienced such a warm welcome! The owners could simply not have been more helpful.
The morning mists and evening sunsets after a days walking were to die for. The surrounding countryside and nature walks are some of the best we have been on to date. It would have taken a good weeks hiking to get most of it in. An invite for complimentary canopies and drinks by the pool on our last night finished off a fab three days! We hope to come back next year for a weeks stay and complete the circuits we missed!
Andrea you are very passionate at what you do.which made our visit very special and off course those views!!!
Thanks again for the lift to the restaurant, your super hospitality & all the very best with your gites and chambre d hote plans for next year!
