“Comfort and hospitality in the wine country --”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

Over the years, we've stayed at a number of places along the Cote d'Or between Beaune and Dijon, and Le Richebourg is the most luxurious we've experienced. Behind the deceptively plain walls of a large old country house (the restored Burgundian-style roof, if you take a good look, gives some hint of what's to come) is a remarkably comfortable hotel with large rooms, faultless internet, balcony or terrace space in many instances, and a friendly, attentive staff. Outdoor parking is available across the street, or garage parking in the main building can be had as well. We did not try the restaurant (it had its regular weekly closing the night we arrived, and there are so many other great places tucked away in small villages around the area) but breakfasts were very good, even if on the expensive side. Our room was comfortable (with very effective climate control) and offered a large terrace; the weather was only warm enough to justify using that space on one afternoon/evening; but when we asked for a sun umbrella on that day, one appeared at our door within about three minutes, dragged upstairs by the friendly and long-suffering desk clerk. (If I'd known she had to bring it up herself I'd have done things differently!). A variety of other services are offered (including laundry, at knee-buckling prices, but sometimes that sort of thing is essential!).

One minor thing to keep in mind is that the Richebourg does not accept American Express. That, by itself, is no great surprise in France, but at the Richebourg's price level I might have expected to be able to use AMEX. That said, however, it won't deter us from staying at the Richebourg again if we're in the area, and if we feel like pushing out the boat in terms of some extra luxury --

Room Tip: We didn't notice any exterior noise, perhaps because we had a room on the side away from the roa...

This is a great hotel located in the heart of the burgundy area. You are walking distance to some of the most famous vineyards in the world--such as Romanee Conti. And... probably just bicycle distance to lot of the others--if you don't want to drive. We found the hotel--and restaurant--very accomodating and friendly. Had a great stay.

Room Tip: Book early, as this hotel is centrally located to some of the most sought after locations for tourin...

Hotel Le Richebourg is an up to date modern business like hotel with a restaurant attached to it. I stopped here on my way to The South of France. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room I was in was large and possibly the only negative point is the street noise you hear. Although the rest is fine. The sign in the bathroom telling people the prices of stuff when they steal something looks a bit cheap.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that is not on the side of the road

We have been staying Le Richebourg twice a year for a few years now and have never yet been disappointed with our visits. The staff are so friendly and helpful and always make us feel so welcome, especially Caroline on reception who is an absolute gem. The restaurant serves imaginative, beautiful food and the waiters and waitresses are so helpful - even taking time to translate the menu when our French was so apallingly poor and they were rushed off their feet, nothing was too much trouble and they are happy to cater for individual needs (one of us suffers with several food allergies and this was not a problem, they catered with patience and understanding). The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and are a good size. They have lovely soft pillows and we're fussy with our pillows. Lovely and thoughtful products provided in bathrooms. This is a well run, professional but friendly hotel ad looking forward to our next trip. Too many people are quick to moan and complain but this hotel deserves credit. Well done Le Richebourg.

This hotel was located centrally between beaune and dijion and was great for our chateau and vineyard visits. The rooms were comfortable and the village was darling. My husband really loved the breakfast here....not cheap but very delicious. It may have been a little overpriced, but I would stay here again.

We only stayed one night, bad mistake, as the hotel and the facilities are excellent. The staff could not have been any more helpful with a good knowledge of the surrounding area and the village of Nuit St George that is very near. The dinner and breakfast were first class. Our rooms
were large and newly refurbished as has the hotel itself.

Room Tip: Visit the wine cellar across the road rather than the one,s in Nuit St George

We stayed for four days at this hotel to explore the Cote d'Or and it was a very good choice! The Junior Suite is very large and tastefully equipped. It gave to the main thourough road which might make it a bit noisy. The rooms are air-conditioned and we appreciated the thick, fluffy bath towels. Very friendly and professional staff. The in-house Spa is not specially design but practical and cozy. The treatments we had there (facial and massage) were excellent. The cuisine is quite refined and the breakfast buffet is unusually rich and varied. We would return there anytime;

All our efforts are concentrated in order to provide the most comfortable and unforgettable stay to our clients, and we are so happy that you appreciated the different services we offer.
We just regret that you have been disturbed a little bit by the noise of the road, which is situated at about 30 meters from our hotel. For your next stay, please do not hesitate to ask for a room giving to the garden/vineyard side where you will surely find the absolute calm you are dreaming of.
