“Pleasant, great view, not mind-blowing”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

We did not eat at the hotel, but stayed two nights. The room was an excellent size - a mini-apartment style space with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room space and a large balcony. It comfortably fit 5 people without feeling cramped.

It was clean, and the staff are very pleasant. The pool is large and the views from the balcony are beautiful. The pool is unsupervised and open most of the time (we didn't come across it closed at all, but I am not sure if it closes at night).

Most of the beds were comfortable - although the "additional bed" to cover the fifth person was awful - a horrid sprung bed which made a lot of noise and was very uncomfortable, we didn't complain however, as we were tired enough to get through it!

On the whole, the hotel was also quite quiet - occasionally there would be early risers making lots of noise in the swimming pool, but not much noise at night.

Room Tip: The lift is very slow and old - better to go for rooms on the lower floors than the higher ones - al...

We had a fine time at the Can Fisa but we're seasoned travellers and know how to cope with things that are less than ideal. For the unwary, tempted by the price, be careful.
The comments by DAPB and Jayne2612 are accurate but not the whole story.

The older 'upper' village of Corbera de Llobregat is a step back in time. It is the epitome of 'sleepy'. It has Mediaeval roots so the streets are narrow and hilly. The church is probably pre-13th century. But, while we were there, it was all closed: church, information centre, cultural centre and most of the shops. Looks like the 'upper' town is dying while the newer, 'lower' town, at the bottom of the hill, is thriving as a commuter town for Barcelona. The upper town could rival hilltop villages throughout Europe, if it got its act together, the lower town is soulless.
The Hotel Can Fisa is also a step back in time, but not so far, just back to the heady days of the 70's Spanish holiday boom. It is absolutely typical of the period with no real character, paper thin walls and floors that seem to amplify sound from rooms above. Cracked plaster, lift panel held together by insulating tape, botled gas cooker, no bottle opener all added to the memories of holidays with my mates in Rimini and Benidorm.
The food was definitely 70's quality (a bit mediochre to say the least). We had one evening meal, one late lunch and one breakfast (which, on the Ulster Fry Breakfast Scale scored 3/10). The service quality was the same: no towels changed until we asked, ran out of toilet roll, minimal and cheap toiletries. All of this was ok in the 70's but we expect better today. Staff-wise, Josep and the others on the main desk were very pleasant and helpful (although 50 euros transfer charge from the airport is steep - Josep took us back for 40 and I think could have been bargained down). The rest of the staff were surly - ah the 70's again.
Ear plugs are a must - lack of air conditioning in the appartments means that, in hot weather, the windows need to be left open at night so if the dogs are barking, as they did for a couple of nights, they might drive you round the bend.
The hotel website says that there's a bus service to Barcelona every twenty minutes. So there is, most of the day, but not always and not on Saturdays or Sundays. Also, the journey takes about an hour including a bit of waiting time and there's a fifteen minute walk at the other end to the Ramblas - but it's not an unpleasant journey. Knoiwing what we now know, I would hire a car to visit local wineries, Montserrat etc rather than trying to do it by public transport. If you're cooking for yourself, it's a must to get to the lower town for groceries, although, if you're happy to eat simply (bread, cheese, ham, juices etc) there is a small shop at the opposite end of the upper town.
There's an old folks' residential home in Corbera de Llobregat - Can Fisa is probably best suited to the same market. The only night-life is a bar with a few old codgers and two 50's coffee bars! If you're easy-going and looking for somewhere quiet, cheap and without any fuss, Can Fisa could work well for you.

Room Tip: All seem to be much the same - superb view.

The check in was quick and efficient. the room was very clean, very large with huge floor to ceiling windows and a large balcony, with stunning views, especially at night.

We ate in the town and left early so no idea what the food was like but we had a quick drink in the bar and it seemed comfortable and laid back.

this place is a bargain compared to hotels in Barcelona at about a quarter of the price, and only a 20 minute drive away, was ideal for us as we were travelling about Spain in a hire car.

Some people may say it is too far out, but we thought it was great..

We stayed in one of the apartments adjacent to the Hotel. The staff were very helpful suggesting ways to get Barcelona from Girona airport before we decided to hire a car. Great location in the hills about 20km out of Barcelona. All the rooms have wonderful views of the valley and the small town of Corbera. The rooms were clean and tidy if a little dated but I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Great value for money, we didn't eat in the Restaurant so can't comment.

The staff of the hotel was very friendly.
The restaurant of Can Fisa was perfect. We have had nice dinner and the staff made us feel very at home.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a trip to the Barcelona area. I was with a wife and 2 small kids.
First of all the positives:
We were in a family apartment on the pool side of the road (The hotel is split in 2 and divided by a road inbetween), The room was huge, with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a spacious sitting/TV area and large balcony. We had a great view and it was clean pleasant and comfortable.
The pool was great for the kids, warm enough and had a shallow end. The terrace restaurant looked nice but was out of our price range.
The location is impressive - about 30 minutes from Barcelona.
The negatives:
Long trek up with our luggage (which we had a lot of) in a small lift - only 1 lift for 4 people in a 7 storey hotel! Thankfully it was working.
Shabby sunloungers by the pool. A minor point but an example of the overall impression that the hotel was a little neglected.
Expensive restaurant.
Dogs seem to bark all night here and the sound does carry upwards - we used earplugs and clearly this is not the responsibility of the hotel but worth knowing if you are a light sleeper.
Restaurant is pricey.
Overall it was good value and we would consider going here again.

My sister and I just came back, 10/13-10/15.
This hotel is NOT 20km, (11 miles) from the airport as stated. Nobody including the ticket person at the airport train station could tell us how to get there. We ended up taking a cab, that even with his GPS could not find the hotel, and had to stop to ask directions twice. The ride turned into a 1 hour ride, costing us EUR 40, app US 60. We eventually found out that there is a bus (Autocorb) (Euro 2.05) from the hotel that can take you to the city centre Maria Cristina station, give yourself at least 45 mins where you hop the train (L3) (Euro 1.25) to Placa Catalunya to catch the Aeroporto Bus (Euro 3.90),( 45 minutes to the airport) and vice-versa. If we had only known that before we shelled out our Euro 40, which was actually 40.50, and refused to pay anymore over to the cab driver, so he cursed us "americanos" over 0.50. The last bus from the City Centre back to the hotel leaves at 10:00 or 11:00, depending on the day/weekend, so plan accordingly, if you plan to go out and hang out later as the hotel is located in the hills, very steep ride, and other rides are limited, and the cabs will bleed you dry.
The staff was friendly, giving us maps and directions for the bus into the city. The continental breakfast left much to be desired for Euro 6.00. The rooms/bathrooms were clean and comfortable if you're just looking for a place to rest. It's really out of the way up in the hills, and that's why I probably wouldn't stay there again, and transportation is iffy. The view from the room terrace is beautiful at nights and early mornings.
