Conveniently located next to the airport, this is a nice hotel. Had a standard room with two beds. Though nothing special for Norwegian standards, the room was nice and clean, but I would have expected ability to control the room temperature. The breakfast and dinner buffets are well stocked and have high quality. The omelette station with the chef preparing to our order is a big extra.

Stayed over here one night, and had the pleasure of enjoying the rich and varied breakfast buffet the hotel offers complimentary. You won't leave hungry!

Rooms are clean and spacious enough for shorter stays.

A shopping mall is just across the street of the hotel.

Free parking for guests.

Recommendable!

First of all, I had no choice but to stay here because my luggage did not arrive (forcing me to stay in or near Trondheim for a night when all but the largest, most expensive hotels were fully booked). I was glad that this hotel had a room for me, but despite having spent a lot of time in Norway and being used to how expensive everything is (for an American), I was surprised at the disconnect between the fancy hotel lobby and the drab little room that had not been cleaned very well (the wastebasket had not even been emptied of the last occupant's stuff). It was comfortable enough, though, and the staff were helpful at helping me get my luggage when it finally arrived at the airport. It is probably worth it to stay here for the amazing breakfast and the fun of staying in a place called Hell.

My wife and I have stayed at Rica Hell quite a few times over the last years, and have always liked the hotel. But this time we were unlucky and got a room in the oldest part of the hotel, with windows towards the sea (facing west) and no aircondition. The evening sun made the room very hot and we had problems falling asleep in the heat. The room also had poor WiFi signals, so we had problems connecting to the Internet. In every other way the room was OK, even if the decor was a bit old. I hope a renovation of this part of the hotel is planned very soon.
The food was very good, as always at Rica Hell. Both the breakfast and the dinner buffet had very high quality, with a wide choice of food from local farmers beautifully presented. The staff is very friendly and the parking is good.

Room Tip: In the summer, be sure to get a room with A/C

We stayed here by default as it was near the airport and it was at the end of a holiday. It was a wonderful surprise when we checked in. What a groovy place! The pictures of the lobby do not do it justice. A full seven floor height of glass with see through lift! Comfy seating everywhere. We have never been in such a spotless and nicely run hotel ever. Our rooms were very comfortable (Business rooms - slightly more expensive) with opening window with pleasant enough view, bath robes, nice complimentary smellies, free entry to the tiny but perfectly formed swimming pool and sauna with a view of the Fjiord!

The breakfast buffet takes your breath away quite honestly. Our teenage sons had enough food to last for the day. Everything was lovely. Very friendly and helpful staff. We also had dinner on arrival. The restaurant was very quiet as it was a bank holiday, and our waitress was chatty and explained the food well. Huge portions and very tasty indeed. the only thing lacking was the proper bar, which was closed due to the bank holiday. This is usually a conference hotel apparently. Best one I have seen for a long time. Free shuttle to the airport down the road.

Room Tip: Book a business room for a little more. Well worth it.
