My room was close to reception and close to the main road. Staff gathered around this area talking and laughing with their friends passing by. Good for them but not for my sleep! Traffic noise added to the din.
The room, while spacious, was dark and drab. The electric sockets and wiring were from a bygone age and looked dangerous. Plumbing was from the same era and did not function as it should. Hot water took a long time to arrive. The place urgently needs a make-over. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was poor.
The hotel is located on the main road ( Yone Gyi ) running east-west through the town. There are several reasonably good restaurants along this street and there is a sort of traveller atmosphere as tourists wander up and down mingling with the locals as they go about their business.More
