What a beautiful area, nice hotel, fabulous winery and first-class restaurant.
We got there around sunset and strolled around the grounds, which are absolutely stunning. Rows and rows of grapevines, old gnarly olive trees, stone walls. After touring Sicily's coast for a few days, I really felt like I had been magically transported to somewhere else--the landscape reminded me a lot of Tuscany.
It was too cold to use the pool (we were there in September) but it's beautiful and there's a bar out there, which I assume serves drinks, though there was no one manning the bar then, probably because of the season.
Davide, the owner's son made us feel welcomed and picked out an incredible wine to complement our dinner. Carmelo, the chef cooked up some incredible black ink spaghetti with sea urchins and fresh lamb chops. Also had great cured meats from local black pigs.
Nice, quiet place--great escape!
