This was the hotel with the best quality/price ratio of our entire stay in Corsica (low season though). Continental breakfast was (unusually, for Corse) included in the price. In some reviews people complain about breakfast. It is the standard continental breakfast which you always find in France, just sweet things, so I can understand that one could be disappointed, if used to eat salty food instead of sweet things. However, it was perfect for us, exactly what we take usually in the morning, and plentiful.

The position is great for visiting Porto: just in front of the Tour Genoise, a few steps from the sea, in the small square of Porto Marina. Many restaurants just a few steps away.

Our room (a triple) was clean, large, with a giant flat screen TV, a lot of space for luggages (a small room, with window), a nice veranda with view on the Tour Genois. It was quiet: one could hear the sound of the sea (I don't know how it would be during high season). The bathroom was large and refurbished (french style: bathroom + WC small room). The bed was big and very comfortable.

We had no problems in finding a parking place in front of the hotel. However, they have a private (free) parking which I can imagine can be very useful in crowded season.

The area is spectacular, with a lot of things to see and places to explore (Calanches de Piana, Girolata bay, Scandola Reserve). I would surely go back to this hotel, if visitng again Porto.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view on the Tour Genois

September 17 & 18 2009.
We had first made reservation at the Kalliste hotel but we ended up looking for another hotel after a heated argument with managers at the Kalliste. When arriving at the Subrini, we went to have a look at the rooms and they were just great. Very large rooms for a European hotel and very clean. We had a room on the 2nd floor and our friends were up on the 3rd floor. Our room was overlooking the ocean and we had a small balcony. The view was just great. We stayed there for 2 nighs just wondering around Porto after a long drive from Calvi. The lady that checked us in was very nice. She suggested a couple of restaurant around town for dinner. However, when we came back on the 2nd night, there was another lady at the front desk who was not that friendly, We asked about the AC not working and she got really upset and to this day, we are not sure why!! But I would reco this hotel to everyone, it is well kept and the location is just perfect!

A nice hotel direct at the marina of porto. Very friendly and clean. Stuff speaks all languages, even good German! We would like to go again.

The only thing we miss was an egg for breakfast.

The hotel is well situated right on a good spot in the beautifull bay of Porto Corsica. It is a 3 start NN norm hotel with 59 rooms. They have a private parking some 100 meters upwards.
The rooms are mostly situated in the front, however there are 3 rooms that the travellor should avoid or even refuse at any price. Room 109, 209 and 326. The worse is 109 on the first floor with a "prison view" at less that 1 meter from an awfull brick wall against the the montain, avoiding any view and making the room dark. In fact on this place there should never been a room, but it should have been used for other operational purposes, and not to lodge guests..
The room itself was not small, clean and standard with equipment.
The staff (who appeared to be the owners) where everything except friendly. I agree that we should not been in this hotel and that the incomming handling Destination Corse re-lodged us from the Kalliste in the Subrini, however when there is a conflict with another party they should not take their revenge on the guests, which are in fact the first victim!
Another problem independent from the previous is the fact that officially they offer rooms with airconditioning.... but it is only available in the rooms at 19 hours (7pm), by coincidence the time people go to restaurant in Corsica... so it is in practise somewhere between 20h30 and 21hours you can use it. Absolutely non acceptable. Murphy's law perhaps, but we had even a technical problem, which the owner solved... but after a dispute... about the room and their anger with the other parties.
The restaurant does not operate a restaurant, only for breakfast. It is a basic french style breakfast with croissants and french bread, which is ok for French or Belgians, but propably not for anglo-saxons who prefer larges choice.

Conclusions:
- positif items:
excellent place in the Porto Marina, perhaps one of the bests. Private parking even when a bit away, it is not a "luxury to be underestimated in the are
-negatif items:
Unfriendly staff... and even rude at some points.
Restriction of the airco, just on the moments of the day you need it most! This can even be considered as unfair business.
The backrooms mentionned above should not be proposed to public. (eventually 326 giving a view on the neighbours messy garden)

It is a pity, as the hotel has certainly a positif potential.
