...but a privilege as well.

If you want to know what it is like being part of the Lalleman family, give yourself a week at Auberge de Noves and find out how special this feels.

You are not merely a guest here. Really. There is not a single element to this place that in any way comes across as "pushed" or contrived. From beginning to end, with the omnipresent yet unobtrusive staff, incredible dining (thank you Robert), poolside naps and convenient day-trips made possible by a "best of both worlds" location (we did have a car, making trips to Nimes, Aix, Avignon and Arles from Noves), we found our experience here to be the highlight of a fantastic trip to the region. We left feeling that we had made friends and added family!

We are coming back.

PS: If you make it there first, do give the dogs, Bambu and Balou, a scratch behind the ears from us!

Room Tip: We stayed on the third floor in a room with a giant bathroom and balcony facing the towers of Chatea...

We were invited for dinner at the Auberge de Noves by a friend with fond memories of the place over 30 years ago. The setting is pretty and there is a nice terrace, where we unfortunately could not sit due to the weather. We were taken into the dining room, which is a classic example of the worst of French 1980's gaudiness, with lighting to match.

We all ordered the 68€ menu (pretty expensive in this area) which included an acceptable soup, over-cooked and over-spiced monkfish, and the chef's signature dish of lamb en croute (also over-cooked).

The service was formal and incompetent, with such star moments as taking 15 minutes to serve an incorrect order of drinks at the start of the meal, and holding the part of the cutlery that goes in your mouth to place it on the table. The sommelier was the only member of staff with any style.

This place is a sad relic of a bygone era.

On a friends recommendation I recently spent 5 nights at the Auberge de Noves as part of our European trip and what a recommendation it turned out to be.

There are so many positives that come to mind to describe this hotel from its amazing history of being in the one family for 3 generations to the beautiful and unique Provence style look & feel about the place.

Robert Lalleman is the owner and grandson of its founding Lalleman family is a wonderful chap and has the team welded together in a unique style. Do yourself a favor and take in the charm and professionalism of this man, I cannot recall in my traveling history in crossing one so passionate about his guest, food and hotel in general.

After speaking with Robert I was left with the feeling that he will be slightly shy to tell you about his culinary history and the fact that he has cooked with the best of the best. Having experienced the food at the Auberge first hand I can say his passion for food is amazing as well as his energy devoted to his teams service and his guests happiness.

Testimony to this is the food which is nothing short of outstanding; it starts with breakfast and just continues all the way to the best of gourmet cuisine of an evening on the terrace which is a destination in itself and not to be missed.

From the moment you arrive the place oozes with character and it overwhelms you with charm. The location, perfect for exploring Provence and just minutes from Avignon, and it is also set in its very own woodlands and allows you the feeling of total serenity to walk of the wonderful cuisine yet minutes from the real world. The rustic but beautiful gardens and outdoor terraces are just perfect for a lazy afternoon or a fantastic evening dining experience.

The team is extremely friendly, professional and have a knack of making you feel like an “old friend” retuning home again. The hospitality is a credit to all concerned and the service is slick and efficient.
The rooms are generous and very comfortable and the views are another plus.

If you love your wines as I do see if you can sneak a visit to the cellar, its nothing short of amazing and is testimony to the history of the Auberge, I have since done some research since returning home and it seems to be one of the most respected private cellars in France.
If you love your food and you are looking for a relaxing and memorable time in Provence then go no further, you are in the right place.

I cannot recommend more to take up a visit to this real jewel in Provence, you will not be disappointed……we will defiantly be back, bravo Mr. Lalleman & team

My wife and I have just had two idillic nights in this excellent hotel.

From the minute we arrived to the check out nothing was to much trouble smilling faces, excellent advice.

Room comfortable with west facing ballcony for the afternoon sun, detatched pool with shade if your required it, but the best was the food, served with attention without being over bearing on a exqusite terrace.

I have not eaten better for many years, and I eat out a great deal.

Not cheap but if the exchange rate goes back to anything like what it should be and flights into near by airport this could be a frequent long weekend venue pour moi!

This has got to be one of the nicest places you can hang out for a few days to relax, eat well, and just enjoy getting your energy back. perfect for a stop over as it is on the highway linking St. Tropez, Nice, and Marseilles with the rest of France. Great for wine tasting visits to the Tavel, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and Cote du Rhone areas, as well as for sight-seeing in Avignon, Arles, St. Remy, etc. Set on a hill in the midst of lush vegetation. WIth an amazing chef, Robert Lalleman, and excellent service. Lots of little quirks like the gardens are not that well kept up and many small imperfections, but full of soul. A place where it is easy to feel at home. Free wifi which was excellent although connection could be a little bit more powerful. Even comes with two lovely dogs that hand out on the beautiful terrace where meals are served in the summer (and what a terrace). I think only the Hotel Eden in St. Jean Cap Ferrat has a nicer terrace.
