We just loved the way the owners made you feel at home, but with true luxury. A really beautiful house with great hosts and a very relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend The Urban Villa as a great place to base yourself if you want to visit the southern coast of Spain. Michaela and Michael have a real eye for design and the house just oozes class. They are a very inviting couple but also know when to step back and allow the guests their own space. We stayed for a week and didn't really want to leave. We even got a sneak preview of all the available suites and the amount of space we had (and all the suites had) was really good. All the other guests we chatted to during our stay said same thing - "what a great place, so relaxing and inviting". . . Loved it - you should go and stay here!!

Room Tip: All the rooms were outstanding with views all round

We had an unforgetable good experience of staying at the property staying with our teenage sons. The property is located on a hill top with breath taking views , owners take extra care of guests due to less no. of rooms , the rooms are done up gracefully and have a kitchenette attached , buffet breakfasts are efficiently served on the terrace. Beach / town area are a mere ten minute drive.
What else one can ask for - we will be back soon.

My girlfriend and I had a romantic getaway at the Urban Villa in late June and we were so pleased with everything that we will definitely be going back. Michael and Michaela are not just excellent hosts, amazingly friendly, helpful and just damn right nice, they made our stay unforgettable always helping with anything we needed and we never felt like anything was too much. Spectacular views doubled with sublime service, small touches like flowers and candles set a peaceful and therapeutic ambience ideal for anyone looking to slip into cloud 9 for a while! Must have a car if you're looking to stay there but again speak to Michael and he'll get you the cheapest deal you can find! Away from pretentious parts of Marbella and close enough to go to see the simply delightful parts of Old Town, ONLY IF you can drag yourself away from the several balconies and extensive panoramic views that the Urban Villa has to offer you! My thoughts, sit back relax and forget about the world......... M&M well done, you get 12/10 from myself and the mrs, can't wait to come again!

Room Tip: Romance suite is sublime, we could have never left!!!

This place is a real find and makes a fantastic for couples, groups of friends or families wanting a getaway that's removed from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront of Marbella.

+ves
Large comfortable rooms, lots of nice details and lovely toiletries.
Amazing views of the mountains and sea
Every suite has a terrace and the breakfast terrace is just lovely
Lovely furnishings and decorations
Friendly owners who are there when you need them but give guests plenty of space
Handy shared kitchen (but not the gorgeous one picture on the website!)
Short drive to the Old Town and a also major shopping center for when you want to stock up on supplies or get some retail therapy
Quiet and very comfortable

Up in the hills means there's nowhere to go on foot and you'll need a car if you want to get around. We stayed for a long weekend and made do with taxis when we wanted to go out.
The main access to the pool is via one of the suites so unless you are staying in this room use the other entrance. (Note to hosts, please don't show guests who aren't staying in this room through the room to the pool area).
The pool is the same size as a regular domestic swimming pool but with the beautiful landscaping only comfortably sits around 3 people around it.
No secure gate around the pool to prevent children gaining access

All in all a fantastic place which I hope to visit again and will recommend to others.

I have just spent a long weekend with 4 other friends. It was fantastic. Our hots were so welcoming and hospitable. It felt like there was nothing that they would not help us with. And we tested it out by forgetting our keys and coming home at 3am!!! Nothing but charm. Breakfast was delicious. The setting of the house high on a hill is wonderful. One downside is that taxis do have trouble finding the place so you need to know where you are going!

With kitchen facilities, lounge and terrace areas and the most comfortable of beds, you could easily spend all your time there watching the city below. The pool gets full sun all day so is perfect for spending the day. The surround around the pool is a little lacking on space so you would not want more than 4-5 of you sitting there. We were lucky the other guests chose not to use it at the same time.

I would highly recommend this place to groups, couples or families. But think about renting a car if you are wanting to get around a lot as it is not in walking distance to anything!

Room Tip: Ask for the larger suites first.
