One always has to like staying in a place where you have to drive past the locals only(sauf riverains) sign to get to where you are staying. Here a little patience is also needed as you have to drive through the lower part of the village back out into the fields, always uphill, until you reach the end of the road. Patrick and Brigitte(they insist- no monsieur ou madame) are wonderful hosts, freindly and very helpful, telling us about the things to see(and not see.) We stayed three nights and they took great care to make each breakfast a little different, but always with their homemade yogurts and jams. Our room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the bathroom well-appointed. The views into the Gorges du Tarn are stunning as is the setting of the village under the cliffs at the top of the gorge astonishing. My one reservation is independent of this chambre d'hote and that is the dearth of restaurants nearby. We were there off-season and one restaurant was full at 8PM.

Room Tip: One three rooms, so it is luck of the draw, two have views toward the gorge, ours did not(we had to...

A little hard to find , but well worth the effort as it is set in the most stunning scenery way up in the hills, with mountains all around, and amazing views right across the valley The hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming and the facilities spotlessly clean and beautifully designed, . Breakfast was a real joy with incredibly fresh ingredients, personal touches and local specialities included if you want to try them as well. There are some delightful restaurants and pubs within a couple of miles, serving traditional food, so If you enjoy peace, calm and fantastic scenery whether for walking, cycling, canoeing, driving or just sitting in the hot tub watching the scenery change, then you must try Les Falaises as you will not be disappointed. Just don’t try and take a caravan or trailer up the winding single track road because you will never make it.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms available so pick one of the 2 upstairs if you can for the mountain views but realistic...

A very belated fulfilment of my promise to write a review after our stay last September!

Les Falaises was one of the first places my friend and I stayed on our month trip driving around France, so at the time I didn't know it was to turn out to be just about my favourite - certainly the breakfasts, with by far the best yoghurt I've ever eaten, were beyond comparison.

The rooms were fairly simple but done well, were clean, spacious and had fantastic views. There's also an excellent common room downstairs with fridge, cutlery, china etc.

We didn't meet Bridgitte until our last night, so Patrick was left in charge and he was charming - helpfully providing a 'mud map' of some wonderful day drives through the stunning gorges, affably chatting to us in the evenings, and even running through the machine and bringing in a large load of washing for us. As an Aussie without any French, Patrick's reasonable command of English was a great benefit!

Just one word of warning - Liaucous doesn't have a shop so if you arrive late in the evening, as we did, you'll have to rely on food you've brought with you (we didn't have any), or head back down to the nearest towns.

Would happily recommend this property, and the stunning region in general, to anyone - and have done so.

Lovely place to visit, nice rooms and fantastic view. Patrick and Brigitte are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is incredible tasty with homemade bread, cheescake and local jams and honey. Perfect for few days break away from busy life, also great spot for active people interested in trekking, hiking or kayaking. we will definately come back.

Room Tip: panoramic room has the best views.

Patrick and Brigette the owners and creators of this great B & B near the Gorges du Tarn have created a special home for nature loving travelers. Their recently renovated rooms are very nicely designed and spacious enough for a very comfortable stay. This is a fabulous place to visit, not overrun by tourists and the area offers many unique and interesting places to explore. We enjoyed the owners so much and the other guests at the delicious, healthful breakfast table were very pleasant and assisted us in picking up the French language as much as we wanted. The views from the rooms and the outside breakfast table are spectacular.
We so enjoyed our visit there that we extended our stay for as long as our open schedule allowed.

A tip: It would seem to us that an automobile is almost a necessity to enjoy all that there is to do in the area, and to get to the little hillside town of Liaucous, high above the Gorges.

Room Tip: We stayed in two of the rooms and they were both great, our favorite was the Panoramic View Room.
