This hotel is just South of Salamanca and we used it as a stop-over on our drive to Portugal. The rooms are very large and the bathroom is equally large with a walk-in shower. Free wi-fi in the room. Quiet area, so no traffic or city noise. All this for £33 per night. Last year it was £32, so no massive increase. The restaurant has a large menu and the food is good. Staff first class. There is a pool, but only open in the summer months, outdoor.

Room Tip: All rooms the same.

Stopped here twice, one on the way to the Algarve and once on the way back - via the ferry to Santander.

It is about a 4 hour drive from Santander and so was an ideal stopping place for the trip. I read some of the reviews on Trip Advisor and they are moslty pretty accurate.

This is not a high quality hotel by any means but it is amazing value for money for a one night stop over. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The bathroom is a little cramped but OK. The walls are thin so there is some noise from the other rooms, but this wasn't a problem after 10 and night.

The staff are friendly and helpful and although they don't all speak English they are keen to communicate. We managed to muddle through with a mixture of a few words of Spanish, a bit of French, a few hand jestures and a bit of English.

Salamanca itself is about 5 miles away but parking is fairly simple just south of the river, the hotel recptionist gave us a map and suggested places to park for free and we went in to take a look around in the evenings we were there. It is a very impressive town and worth a visit if you are passing through.

Most reviews say it is easy to find but we had a bit of trouble, mainly because I pritned directions of Google Maps and they said it was on the 802 road but it is actually on the 803. Eventually I put "Mozarbez" and "Town centre" into my Sat Nav and found it quite easily as it is very close to the motorway.

Breakfast was excellent value. The "hot" food left a bit to be desired (it was fairly cold and some of it seemed to be local delicacies which were a bit strange) but there was plenty of choice of fruit, cereals, breads and cakes to make up for it and at the price it is impossible to complain.

We ate in the bar in the evening and it was OK. Agian nothing special but good value and friedly service.

I would certianly stay here agian if doing the trip south by car.

The hotel initially lacks atmosphire, a bit travel lodge but the staff are friendly, the rooms are immaculate and the food was divine. My aunt had a 3 course dinner with wine and coffee for 18 euros that was spectacular. We ate a la carte and have rarely enjoyed dinner so much. The recommended wine was perfect and while I will never get used to eating a gourmet dinner while the equilivant of Jeremy Kyle is on in the background it has to be said that the food and excellent service were faultless. The hotel has a pool and sun terrace which were all clean and very relaxing. This was our second but not our last stopover here. Excellent valve.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back as they have better light and views of the countryside and pool. Breakfast is missable and you won't need more than a coffee if you eat the night before!
