We were planning our trip on where to stay as our base around the region (Alberobello, Martina Franca) where the trulli were. We found that when we called other hosts either they don't speak English or it felt a bit touristy. We saw the positive reviews of this place Trulli Terra Magica, and we took a leap of faith of booking three nights as our base to go around the province Puglia. To begin with Michaela is a very helpful, resourceful, would go an extra mile kind of host, and she speaks English well! The recommendations she provided for us regarding restaurants, beaches to visit, shops to see for locally grown nuts / baking goods were most helpful and she understood our appreciation of local flavors vs. touristy stuffs. The room where we stayed was themed and cosy. The breakfast in the morning was prepared with care – the fruits were grown by the host and the cakes were baked by her. I would recommend this place to stay as a base around the region of where the trulli are. As for our experience driving a car to the other towns was 15-30 mins one-way. It was relaxing not having to pack/unpack daily.
Stayed in September 2012, traveled as a couple.More
