My wife and two daughters spent almost two weeks in family suite in April. We had a perfect time. The rooms were well lept , the staff were always friendly and helpful and the kids were spoilt with all the attention the staff gave them. The location is excellent , it is not in the "hussle and bussle" of Patong but close enough to visit and then escape. The beach is a 3 min walk and the shops & restaraunts and just around the corner. The grounds were immaculate. The pools were excellent and the kids loved all 3 pools. Breakfast was faultless and a great way to start the day. The restaraunts were pricy but you dont have to eat there . We ate at the restaraunts around the corner for lunch and dinner. We all had a elaxing time and can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: If you want water views book a room on the 5th floor in the main hotel.

Room Tip: Garden view is suitable for families and people who like quiet and private stay.

We had a great family holiday in Phuket. Karon Beach is a great location, the hotel is centrally located with easy access to the beach, markets and main street.
We chose the Moevenpick as it was recommended for being child friendly. There were plenty of families with children of all ages yet the hotel seemed to lack atmosphere. Asides from people around the 2 main pools, the complex seemed deserted.

The family villa style accommodation worked well for 2 adults, a 3year old and a 1.5year old.
The rooms were clean and neat, bathrooms were worn. Tip - buy mozzie aerosol (not from te hotel $$$) as the large gaps around the exterior doors meant by husband was severely bitten on the first night.

The mini bar was ridiculously overpriced. I expect the prices to be higher than if bought from a 7/11 but the mark ups were truly on the high side. Walk to the front gate and buy can of Heineken for 42B rather than 150B or 1.5L still water for as low as 10B in the supermarket compared to 240B in your room.
The food and drinks offered at the bars, cafes and restaurants were also ridiculous and says a lot why they were mainly empty during our stay. We ate lunch in the pool side brasserie and found ourselves to be the only 4 people there.
Walk down the main street and choose from plenty of option. The Red Onion Restaurant was by far the best. Better quality and service for a fraction of what you would pay in the hotel.

The buffet breakfast was full, mainly because this would be included in most packages. The food options were good. The omlettes were fantastic. However changing items such as chocolate milk is enough for any 3 year old to throw a tantrum when it is taken off the buffet. A lovely waitress went and made us a chocolate milk however using unsweetened cocoa (used in baking) is quite bitter and undrinkable.
Nutella was offered on the 1st day and then subsequently exchanged for a darker peanut based alternative that was still labelled nutella. This would pose a significant health risk to someone allergic to peanuts yet thinking they were eating a hazelnut paste.

The majority of the high chairs lacked working straps. Keep a watchful eye of the little ones while eating.
Also the cots provided in rooms are old and rickety. Our 16 month old managed to climb out while wearing her Grobag and land head first on the hard tiled floor. She has never done this before or since our holiday out of her simple but sturdy IKEA cot.

As a 5 star hotel, we expected WIFI to be readily available and even free in the lobby/reception area. We were advised to buy a 50B ticket for 1 hour continuous use in the library. Simple one would think but the computers are old and slow and it took 2 attempts along with the help of a staff member to log in and still resulted in no success. An IT person was apparently called and still we could not log in. We ended up getting a refund and only then told about WIFI at a charge (of course). This information would have been useful to know upon originally asking about internet or at least noted in the Guest services folder (this could have had a lot more information instead of bare minimum) located in rooms.

We did not use the Kid ZOne as our eldest is only3 years old but the playground provided much fun for the kids as did the pools so we felt they did not miss out on anything.
Forget hotel laundry service (100B for one tshirt!) compared to a lovely lady across the road from the main entrance who charged 50B per kilo. Pick up next day, neatly folded and bagged up waiting for you. Many shops along the main street offer this service. It was nice to come home and not have any washing to do asides from the clothes on our backs.

Walk past the hotel spa centre and head outside the complex. I became a regular at the ON LEE massage palour on the main street. You can't miss it as the lovely ladies are dressed in pink tshirts. Very friendly, well priced 300B for a thai massage. 200B for manicure/pedicure compared to 600 1/2 hour/1500 1 hour at the hotel. Mimi was the absolute best!!
Also recommend the fish spa at the front of the massage palour. Amazingly smooth feet afterwards, just be prepared for the tickling.

Imagine yourself, at a pool, water warm and clear, cool, soothing drinks at brilliant praces wet your whistle, & at night you return to your clean, roomy space, ordering tastly room service and we received a complementary DVD player, so we could chill in the evenings with the kids! All of the staff were kind, so helpful and the breakfast omletes were to die for! We will be back!!

Room Tip: Spring for an Ocean view room on the top floor, only a few dollars more and soooo worth it (no mozzies or noise)!

Great family hotel. The breakfast was good and has various variety. Good spa services. Can leave your children with their in-house Kids Playground. My children loved it there.
