Reviewed 12 July 2010

i like to stay somewhere memorable on the last night of my holidays but this place is remembered for all of the wrong reasons. The tiny dingy rooms that were like Blackpool meets Brighton seafront squalor, bathrooms shoehorned into the rooms so that you could bearly stand upright in the shower and banged your head whilst sat on the toilet. there was no air con (fine not all places have it) but needing to have the window so wide open meant no sleep due to street / neighbourhood noise (a domestic just after midnight, guests slamming car doors just after 1.00am etc) and at least a dozen insect bites to scratch on the way home. The restaurant was pretentious and poor value, and the breakfast just poor value - i agree with the earlier comment about tiny croissants - i think these belonged to a dolls house - all of the offerings were obviously pre packed, nothing fresh and the coffee cold!! to top it off they tried to over charge us - again though as per previous comments didn't make any fuss when asked to remove certain items from the bill. This hotel was a mistake not to be repeated.

We stayed in this hotel on a Saturday night. We chose it from the Logis book, which normally lists good small and mid sized hotels, which have a high standard of food.

The hotel is well presented externally. The main public areas are attractive. The main dining room was very pleasant, but not crowded as one might expect for a weekend evening. At one point there were more staff than guests. Service was almost a little too attentive - emphasis on asking us to order drinks and the plates were cleared the second that our knives and forks were lowered. The food was good, nicely presented but very much nouvelle cuisine rather than food to fill one up. Breakfast the next morning revealed some of the smallest and soggiest croisants to appear in France this year!

But.....the bedrooms. These were definately not worth the money. More like 65 francs worth rather than 65 Euros. Our group took two bedrooms., both equally sad. The shower areas were frankly appalling. In one room it was a converted wardrobe and so disgusting that the guest came in our room to use our shower. In our room, the shower area was an enclosed corner. The room divider didn't close properly, nor divide the room satisfactorily. The shower cubicle was showing its age, lots of black mould and no where to satisfactorily hang a towel or other items.

I think the bed was clean, but we only had one pillow for two people. The spare blankets covers and pillows in the wardrobe were in a very sad state. This was not a place to be if you wanted a good nights sleep. We could not wait for morning, breakfast and to be on our way.

I am sure this could be a really good hotel. The manager runs a very good restaurent, he just needs to get the bedrooms sorted out and it could be a pleasant place to stay. Until then, consider somewhere else

The WIfi worked really well.

Went to the Hotel to because we had been several times over the last 10 years, but not since it had changed hands. Purpose was to celebrate my wife's birthday in the restaurant. We were not dissapointed. We really enjoyed the food and ambiance. The food was presented with a certain flair appropriate for the occasion. All staff were very helpful and attentive, especially the maitre d'. The food was also cooked to a very high stanard, with personal tastes catered for exactly.
The accommodation is in need of updating but still has a quaint charm all its own. Beds are clean and comfortable and amenities such as wi-fi available. I had a problem with my wi-fi but the staff were most helpful and I was soon online.
We will certainly be returning in the future whe we are next in th area.

We stayed as a one night stay ( not prebooked ) on a motorbike tour . Reception was good and garaging offered for the bike . Room size was good and bed comfortable but although updated poorly done ( cushion floor on top of carpet , window that wouldn't open ,very noisy plumbing . The restaurant offered a set menus at 27Euro 50 . Small portions and poor value - reminicent of nouvelle cuisine era example accompaniment of 3 small slices of potato topped with a baby turnip . a baby beetroot and a round carrot. Breakfast not taken at & 7euro50 although put on bill in advance but removed without question

This hotel has changed hands within the last 2 years and our old Michelin Guide was sadly out of date, gone has the bib gourmand, a recomendation for good food at moderate prices.

The current menu is limited to say the least, the restaurant is cold, my wife eat her meal with her coat on, rooms not much warmer. The waiting staff are clueless. This restaurant is one too be missed.

The hotel and restaurant is in great need of updating or at least a good clean up (mould on walls in bedroom)

The proprietor is a nice enough guy and the beds were very comfortable but this was not enough to compensate for a bill of 186 euros, when the 1st course was acceptable (just) and eaten, the main course, duck was tasted and left, and the choice of deserts offered by the waiter did not match anything offered on our set menu and was passed over. We had a cup of coffee in the morning (filter) and were charged the full breakfast rate of 7 euros each.

No one tells you of the church opposite with the bells, but thats just a reminder to get up EARLY and get out of this sub-standard hotel as soon as possible.

Try somewhere else it cannot be any worse.
