New, close to the Channel Tunnel. You might think this is only for itinerant golfers who can't get any further South. But it's more than that. Yes, it is for golfers but if you need a place to rest within easy distance of Calais consider St Omer.

Ok, unless you are a golfer this is more likely to be a place for a night en route as opposed to being your week long destination holiday.

The dining experience wains a little when it's busy but the standard overall is good. Breakfast is enough to prepare for the day (srambled egg is not a high point but there is pleny else to tempt).

Rooms are clean and well laid out. The overall experience is helpful and friendly.

We have stayed many times for one night at this hotel - it deserves a good compliment.

It was the 4th time that we spend a weekend to relax and to play golf.
The room, vieuw on the hole 9, is splendid.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The dinner was, for that hotel, bad.
We have tried several dishes. None was worth a three star hotel.
It used to be better.
The kitchen should do something, urgently, to the level.

Where to stay on New Years eve near Calais?
Everywhere is either closed (even the local McDonalds!) or only open for a "themed" stay
Well the Hotel du Golf turned out to be the ideal solution
Rooms are very clean and warm - all fittings to a high standard
The public areas are also impressive - good bar and excellent restaurant.
Definitely the place to stay if you have an early channel tunnel train
Will stay again

This is our third stay here this year and find the location conveniently close to Calais and great for lovely views over the Pas de Calais countryside.
The rooms are Comte posey and stylish with comfortable beds, good quality bedding and excellent bathrooms. For two of our stays breakfast was included in the room rate, but not on this occasion and at 18 euros each we decided to skip it. This was because we experienced a very disappointing and expensive Dinner the evening before. In fact my husband left practically all his food, despite being hungry. We were given a 12 euro discount when settling the bill, but we would preferred to have had a lovely French dinner together as planned.
Finally we used our Best Western card on arrival and on on line booking but did not get a room upgrade in what appeared to be a very quiet hotel.
So in summary some good and some bad points, but in fairness we did enjoy all aspects of our previous 2 short stays including the food.

We were given a voucher as a present and chose this hotel as a stopover on the way to Calais. Having had bad experiences with Best Western in the past, we were a little apprehensive, but it turned out to be excellent. The building lacks character, which is a pity, as the surroundings are very attractive, but the comfort and service more than make up for that. The staff, both at reception and in the restaurant, were outstanding and the food was very good.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view on the golf course are nicest.

Having tried most of the other hotels in the area, this is the place for me and this was our third visit this year.
Due to delays in the Uk, we called ahead to say we would be late and we were offered a cold plate dinner.

We arrived at midnight and had our supper in the bar, and i have to say it was excellent - everything fresh and tasty with nice hot bread. The bar was in full swing and plenty of staff about. Rooms are excellent and warm.

I would suggest paying for a golf view room. Breakfast is included in the RR and is very good - decent sausages, not the traditional garlic gristle.

Lunch and dinner are excellent too!

A great hotel, set in beautiful countryside and over looking the golf course. Restaurant served excellent food a little on the top end price wise, it was a Thursday night and the restaurant was very quiet but after dinner we had coffee and petit fours on the patio watching the sunset. So to bed,the most comfortable hotel bed ever !!! It did not receive full marks as there was a lack of tea and coffee making facilities there were two small bottles of water. All in all a wonderful stop over.
