This hotel is situated in a very quiet spot, it was an old mill, and has been very well converted in to excellent hotel accommodation. The rooms are very well furnished, and soundproofed. The grounds are well maintained with a small river running past the old mill and under the hotel accommodation. The evening meal in the restaurant even in a Sunday was first class. Breakfast was very plentiful and well laid out with a large selection. Pity we only had a one night stopover, this is an ideal spot for mor than one night.

We spent two nights here the hotel is set in lovely grounds. The cement works does not detract from the setting of the hotel. Our room was excellent spotless roomy and well appointed. Unfortunately there were no coffee making facilities but bottled water was provided. We had a large walk in wardrobe which was much appreciated. The only drawback was the cost of eating in the restaurant. We ate at lunchtimes and had a snack sitting in the lovely grounds in the evening. Weather was warm. I would be happy to return and would recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: We had room 32 overlooking the watermill on the first floor

Our second stay at this very nice hotel....as long as you can get past the cement works you will find a lovely old mill and very welcoming hosts. The rooms are modern and nice, the food is excellent and its convenience for Calais could not be bettered

Room Tip: They all seem to be nicely positioned- room 7 which was ours is in pole position for Breakfast!

The Hotel just off the motorway is set in nice gardens just positioned so you cant quite see the industrial chimney belting out smoke. The garden ,river, and outside dining area look great in the summer but not in December. The room was reasonably spacious, but bland, the bathroom ok.
The restaurant is set in a separate building on the first floor. The the food was pleasant but the service slow, not surprising when only two staff were serving on a busy prechristmas saturday night.
All in all I thought 250 euro for Dinner bed and breakfast was expensive and the hotel understaffed.

This was the last of 6 hotel stopovers in France; once you find the hotels, it is a mile or so out of Lumbres it is in a delightful location.
The hotel is set over a river, which ran right under our room, from where we took great pictures of the Old Mill 40 yards away which was where we would have dinner.
Our room was clean, well fitted, and very comfortable, with free wifi.
The restaurant is upmarket in style of food, presentation and price. If one is lucky enough to eat out in hotels on a regular basis, it is nice to have something simple on the menu, a cheese omelette would have been just fine but no chance.
The food was very enjoyable but the service could have been better...a bit on the snooty side.
Ample free car parking and the grounds were nice to look around.
Only 30 miles or so from Calais just South of the A26 where St Omer is 3/4 miles to the North of the A26. Lumbres it self has nothing to offer, where as St Omer is a very interesting town.

I agree with the previous reviewer (FODOR) everything He / She says is correct. We did however eat at the restaurant, The service was fine, the food was well presented and we had no complaints, however the following night we ate at l'channel in Calais and it was about 10 euros more expensive price wise but out of the window with regard to the service and food. Its not that the Mombreux is bad its that the other is so much better with a 10% price differential that does not reflect everything else.
Set menus are available and there is also a chefs daily special menu.
The accommodation is fine, good surroundings, sound proof, no problems with the hound, parking is OK. Staff are helpful, location is lovely.
Difficult review because its fine and restaurant is good given that when you are there you probably won't venture out so comparisons with a Calais restaurant are probably not fair

Room Tip: All would appear to be OK

We stayed two nights for convenience as it was near Calais. The bar and front door shut at 7, which meant there were no facilities for making coffee either. There was only a hand held shower spray in the bath and no slip mat which meant showering was slippery and difficult. The food in the adjoining restaurant was good, as was breakfast. The room was comfortable enough with tv and wifi.
