We have visited twice this summer and on both occasions loved it. The decor is subtle with a slightly quirky twist. The menu is small with just 3 or 4 choices at each course and is A La Carte which I like, I can't eat several courses. The wine is reasonably priced and very local, we recognised several of the vinyards.
The staff are charming and friendly and speak some English but didn't mind that I wanted to speak my very bad French! Last time we went we sat outside with a view of the cathedral, it was lovely.
We took our son and the bill for 3 of us was 104 euros which included 3 starters, 3 main courses and a bottle of local wine (21euros) a bottle of san Pelligrano and 2 coffees.
The service isn't quick but who wants quick when you are having a pleasant evening?!

First impressions weren't good. We arrived without a booking, we were put on a table in one of the two rooms with no other diners, and we were then ignored for about 20 minutes. It was very apparent that we had arrived whilst the one waiter was serving almost every other table, and he was working flat out. But when he was able to serve us, he made a fantastic wine recommendation, and served us wonderful main courses (one quail, one ombrine - which to be honest, we'd never heard of). Desserts seemed a bit half hearted, but it was a good meal, sensibly priced.

Why not a 5* - well the night we went we were the only people in the restaurant all night! We were recommended to eat there and the food was fantastic, the waiters were great and the ambience promised to be great.

The menu was small - which gave it a fantastic rustic/local feel and the wine list was great - we enjoyed a lovely Cabernet Franc from the local area with our perfectly cooked Margret de Canard.

People staying at the same place as us went the night before and it was packed! so just pot luck I suppose which is not surprising in such a small town. Well worth a visit.

very friendly, chic and rustic little restaurant. well priced with a great wine menu. We were in need of a simple meal after a long drive but got sucked in by the fresh ingredients and bistro charm of the place.
