We were met by Catherine who was absolutely charming, showed us to our room, got us some help with our luggage and explained about late entry and the secure car park. The situation of the hotel was somewhat surprising as it gives the impression that it is right on the beach and this is borne out by the photo of the hotel on the website.

However, the photo must have been taken when the hotel was built in the thirties as there is now a road, a fish warehouse and a block of flats between the hotel and the sea!

The decor in the rooms is thirties style, the bedroom large, bed comfortable and tea and coffee provided. The balcony to the room could have been a real wow factor but instead contained a few pots with dead plants and generally was run down and not somewhere that you wanted to be.

Breakfasts at 8 euros each was a bit on the high side for what was basically a few sticks of bread and a croissant altough orange juice and tea/coffee were limitless and we were offered extra bread. We did think about going out for breakfast, but there was nowhere other than take aways and virtually no savings.

The hotel has a large restaurant that is soulless and no-one ever ate in there - probably because they only had one dish which was an expensive plate of seafood,

Hotel was very clean but a bit expensive at 100 euros a night plus breakfast and the staff were charming

Room Tip: If you book directly with the hotel, you can choose your room. Most are sea facing (and you can just...

This is the kind of hotel we really enjoy. Very quiet (no crowded "all-in" situations), with wonderful views from most of the rooms.
The building itself needs a little paint on the outside, but the rooms are very nice. Good beds.
breakfast is French but OK, so don't expect an English or Irish breakfast. More than 10 different "home made" marmalades, enough bread, croissants, some fruit juice, ...
tea & coffee facilities in rooms.
ample parking
limited but excellent restaurant (only Oyster-bar or "Fruits de mer" plate, really delicious)
no elevator

Room Tip: ask sea view (most of the rooms have it) we had a large room on the 2nd floor with a wonderful view

This is a typical 1920`s hotel of which there are many in France. It was clean and the beds good..we slept well. BUT it was rather spoilt by the welcome we got from a rather manipulative lady! She pointed out our shoes were dirty (they were not!) , our car was badly parked, that we could only eat if we finished by 8p.m......what a shame.

This is a very tired looking place. We had a fab room overlooking the front, very roomy and comfortalble. A tip, take a kettle and bottled water to your room to make your own tea or coffee. We ate out every day and night and the local food in the town of St. Gille was amazing. We did not even have a drink at the hotel during our visit, the bar was not welcoming, just a few locals drinking. We had a long drive to get here and the landlady did not even offer us a coffee or glass of water. I know it was the quiet part of the year, only two rooms were rented. This suited our purpose. The front door closed at 9pm, no problem.

Room Tip: Ask for the sea views

Just wanted a place for a good sleep and I was greatly surprised to find that this hotel actually has Hästens beds, famous in Scandinavia but not very known in France. When I travel for business I often have to suffer terrible hotel beds when the only thing I really need (beside cleanliness) is to have a good night sleep.

We stayed here as we wanted to spend a few days in the area
Really old style hotel, room was fantastic with balcony overlooking sea, brilliant continental breakfast, lots of home made jams and real tea.
Really clean and nothing too much trouble, they served us breakfast before the restaurant was open as we had to depart for an early flight
