We must have misread the reviews as we thought this hotel was a few minutes walk into old town of Annecy. In reality 30+minutes! Staff varied in attentiveness and friendliness. Carpets and decor and fittings are a bit worn and 'tired' looking. Needed to remind staff to top up tea/coffee. Not unpleasant but would try to find somewhere closer to centre and more friendly if we visit Annecy again

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in June 2013. We had a delightful stay and the hotel fulfilled all our needs. We had arrived by car, and therefore we were looking for a hotel with ample free parking, which the Flamboyant had. The hotel is in a quiet position but yet only a short walk to the lake side, and a 30 minute stroll into the centre of the old town of Annecy. If not wishing to walk, there is a bus into the centre that passes the hotel. Our room (number 433) was comfortable, well equipped, and spacious with a small balcony large enough to sit out on, a distant view of the lake and airconditioning. The aircon we certainly needed because the temperatures were around 32-33 degs & it would have been quite uncomfortable to sleep without it.The room itself was unusual because there were no other rooms either side or above it, but there were 2 small flights of stairs to it and no lift, and for people with mobility issues, this could be a problem. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly and very helpful. We had a lovely stay there and would not hesitate to stay there again.
We had breakfast each morning in the hotel which was very nice with plenty of choice.

Room Tip: Room 433 is a great room but has no lift access.

Peaceful location with average, acceptable rooms with nice little patio. Close to Carrefour for great meats, cheese, bread & wines. Hot water carafe in room. Short walk to boardwalk, bus stop & our favorite restaurant "Le Ciselin"...so good we ate there twice!

We stayed in this hotel for a few days in may and we were nicely surprised by the place.
It's a small, but comfortable and clean hotel with friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms aren't fancy, but they are enough spacious, comfortable and clean. The vicinity is very calm and quiet, so you will not be disturbed if you need a good rest (and you can enjoy the view which is pretty nice). The Annecy lake is in walking distance and if the weather is appropriate you can easily get to the old town. There's a supermarket - only 200-300m. from the hotel and if you go further you can find some restaurants as well.

If you need something, the reception staff will allways be helpful and kind.

In summary I can say that we liked the hotel a lot, it's offering a really good value.

* The only problem we faced was that the hotel doesn't offer food (except the breakfast). But that wasn't such a big problem having the supermarket so close. And of course there are some restaurants close to the lake, so in 10 mins you can find some place to dinner :)

I was a little worried when we arrived that the hotel was a little way out from the main town but we would of never got to see the great views of the city and the lake while walking into the main village if we did not stay here. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helped with questions and directions. No restaurants close by hotel but we were aware of that after booking in. Definitely value for money!

Had a weekend stay here - booked by an agency. A bit old world and spartan - the room furnishings had that very budget look - like some Motel off the side of the road in a 60s US movie set. But there was an in room water boiler with mugs and tea, a minibar with a few items, and lots of heat! Indeed we slept with the door open on a cold winter night to balance the heat which didn't seem linked to the room thermostat. Place was really quiet, modest breakfast... you get the idea? Plenty hot water for the shower - but two small towels... A balance of what's good with a budget image. Sweet view of the Alpes outside our balcony! It is a 30 min walk to the sights of Annecy - plus that's fine with us.

Stayed for one night on our travels back to Calais. Booked in at 5pm hungry and tired after a long day of travelling. bedroom not bad, but attitude of the young receptionist was appalling. When asked about food and drink was told "not possible" although in the literature in the room it stated that food and drink was available until 10pm, but she still said "not possible", so we went to bed tired, thirsty and hungry. needless to say we would not stay at this hotel again.
