Trip for job to Lyon. The hotel is located in a good position to reach the industrial area and it is out of traffic. The hotel is clean, well organised, rooms clean. There is also a good restaurant inside. The only negative point was that it was not possible to switch the air conditionair off in the room.

We stayed 1 night and were amazed to see that it was not even close to any 4 stars hotel in France...i wonder how can this happen? it is clean and quite spacious but has no "soul" or any consideration for the guests experience. The room and bathroom were cold and ugly, withithout any slight attempt to create some ambience or comfort. The bath has little to none amenities, no safety handle to hold when in and out of it... the bed not comfy the pillows a disaster, and the blankets like they were taken from a 3rd rate travel Inn from the 50's...Really a big disappointment. Would not recommend it to anybody. The receptionist was nice and helpfull, but this was a small drop in the sea of disappointment. We could not wait to the morning to just get on the road.....

Room Tip: Maybe if rated as 3 stars and we would have payed 80-90 Euros we would feel differntly, but the pric...

Stayed here for business many times. The complimentary bus shuttle from the airport is much appreciated. If you want to dine in the restaurant there is a good choice of foods. (There is also a McDonald's nextdoor...)

The rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable.

The only downside is that the surrounding area is rather dull, and it doesn't exactly inspire to an evening walk!

We had a positive experience here. The rooms were comfy, flat screen tv and internet in room, and the bathroom was huge! Front desk staff were helpful, spoke English. Breakfast was continental and McDonalds is right across street, for late night snacks. It was perfect for our commuting to Lyon and back and reasonably priced.

Several sites say the hotel offers shuttle service to the airport. This is only partly true. It's in a small town that's 15 mins. from the airport and the shuttle doesn't run before 10 or after 5--worthless for international flights. It will cost you 30 Euros or more for a cab ride and you'll be stuck in a town with few amenities and a 15-min. walk even to get to those! Soulless business class lodging that's clean but spartan. Stay in Lyon and take the tram that goes directly to the airport. Avoid this place.

Hotel Ambassadeur is clearly oriented toward business people during the week. The hotel was nearly empty on a Saturday night when we stayed to catch an early flight at the nearby Lyon Airport. The room was modern, roomy, quite pleasant, and the bed was comfortable. But the heat pump or whatever served as air conditioning didn't work and we were uncomfortable during the night until the outside air cooled. I'd be careful about staying there in the middle of the summer. Wired Internet was free and worked well. The hotel restaurant is closed on the weekend and the one nearby full service dining option, the Hotel Forum's restaurant served us a dreadfully inedible meal. There is a McDonald's across the street which would have been a better choice. Breakfast was included in the quite reasonable 92 Euro rate for a king bed room and was served in a very fancy dining room. It was excellent and diverse including cold meats, cereals, freshly made pastries, rolls, yogurt, and fruit, but no warm items. On a weekday, assuming the air conditioning is working, the hotel might be an excellent choice.
