Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. At room arrival I immediately realized I had got a smoker's room. Went down to change, but was told there were no vacant rooms. (It annoys me that they don't give you an option or a question or an explaination in advance). So I ended up in this extremely smoggy and smelly room. Some colleagues also staying there had got smoke-free rooms, but they complained about other details; shower not working and other outworn details.
The breakfast buffet was OK though.

Room tip: Remember to state "NON-SMOKING ROOM" in advance.

I stay here quite often on business travel and there isn't a lot of choice in Maintal. The hotel itself is fairly basic and dated in decor and services. The walls are thin and the staff are reluctant to ask other guests to quiet down after midnight. The restaurant service is usually friendly on a basic level but the staff are not able to deal with any non-standard situation. The food is not particularly good. Although the menu descriptions sound good, what turns up on your plate is usually disappointing. The hotel becomes very busy when there is a Messe in Frankfurt. On these occasions, they withdraw the restaurant menu and serve a buffet. The buffet food could be compared to hospital food and is expensively priced for Germany (€14 for a plate of main course). During these times, I would strongly recommend making the short walk into Maintal (15 mins) to go to one of the restaurants there where you could eat and drink from a menu for that price.

This place surprice me by the kind service receive through all my stay, eventhough it was a different person at the front desk every day all of them were very helpful and kind. The location is very far from the train station and taxis are not always available at the Maintal Ost so carry change for the phone that is out of te station to call a taxi or the hotel to help you calling one.

The decor is dated but this seems to be typical of German hotels. It does a job in a basic way. The reception staff seem friendly enough if not a little stretched. It took 3 attempts to get through to reception to order room service over approx 50 mins. Again like many German hotels it is an unfamiliar concept so was not surprised at no menu in room and to be initially asked to come downstairs to place order ! The food was good though although delivered by the receptionist both nights underlining it as an unfamiliar concept. The shower changed temperature by itself which was uncomfortable. The room service arrived with no cutlery the second night and the taxi booked for the airport also did not show so a frantic re book was needed. Breakfast is basic in that there is juice from a machine not fresh, there is fresh fruit but it's all slung in one large bowl and there is the usual cheese and meat and some meat / egg hot items plus breads. Slept ok but walls v v thin.

I stayed here for one night on business. It was fine. The room was clean and tidy as were the public areas. The food served in the restaurant was good too. There was a young man on reception that was probably the most helpful receptionist I have been served by in quite a while.
