“Beautiful hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

We stayed for 3 nights to attend a friends wedding in nearby Castellamare del Golfo. It is right on the main road but we found this didn't affect our enjoyment at all.

The room was very spacious with high ceilings and a great view across vineyards. Even the motorway flyover in the distance was not a problem.

The pool was cool, clean and refreshing and as the hotel was quiet was often private!

It sadly falls short of 5 as we found service variable, fantastic the day our son was unwell and we were served dinner in the room but less so the next night with service very slow in the restaurant, perhaps it was because we were less relaxed with a child than if we had been a couple.

I would suggest this hotel is better suited to adult travellers/couples and would certainly recommend it to friends.

Room Tip: Pay the small amount extra for a superior room.

Dear Guest,

We thank you for your nice review and we apologize for the slow service during the dinner that night, probably due to a large number of guests that came to our restaurant at the same time, most of them without any reservation (we usually ask our guests to confirm the resevation for dinner before 12.00 am). Our waiters and our Chef always do their best to satisfy the requests of the guests. We hope that your son is better now and maybe to see you again in our hotel !

Best regards,

We spent a week at Angimbe and were very comfortable. The hotel had various functions on when we were there, but despite this the staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly and did all they could to minimise any effects on us. We felt very welcome, a lovely pool and surroundings. We had some good meals at the hotel and the staff were very accommodating to our needs. (one of our party needed a gluten free diet.) You will almost certainly be greeted by a dog called Bella who has adopted the hotel and welcomes all guests.

This was a stop during a 9 day bike trip. Many aspects of the hotel were very good including the breakfast and dinner. The staff was friendly and eager to be helpful. We found the room comfortable but quite small. There was a small sign warning that the water was not drinkable and we feel that bottled water should have been provided at no or minimal charge. The hotel itself is very large and lacks a sense of intimacy. It was too cold to use the very nice looking pool area. All in all we had a good experience.

The hotels website boasts haut cuisine eating. Maybe ,but not in their resaurant. They dont have one. At least if they do, it isnt open. We had to go out to eat each night, in early September, to either a pizza place a kilometre away, or into the nearest towns, from 6 or 7 km. It should be made clear the restaurant isnt operable, for whatever reason; we were never told. Also, they have a 'games room' with sky tv on a big screen, but no subscription card available, so that there were more programmes on the tv in our room, which was worse than our freeview.Plus the wi fi only worked in the building, not round the pool or the grounds. In a good spot apart from the autostrada on a gantry visible and audible from the grounds.

Room Tip: Not a lot of rooms but nice enough

We did not see the small "water not potable" sign taped to the left corner bottom of the mirror until the next morning. The staff said nothing about the water and nor does the establishment offer any bottled water except for what you pay for in the mini bar. If you don't have potable water, I feel 2 bottles of water should be provided. The sign needs to be bigger and centered on the bottom of the mirror to prevent this from happening to others. Well my husband drank more of the water than I did and was very sick for 2 days, ruining 2 days of his vacation, having to stay in bed. PROS: very nice place and staff otherwise. When we arrived we were very hungry, coming from the ruins, and the staff offered to make us nice sandwiches. Rooms nice and clean. I enjoyed sitting out in courtyard listening to the light jazz music in afternoon. Breakfast plentiful.

Room Tip: Not far from ruins.

The hotel had a sense of luxury, with large grounds, beautiful pool, and stylish large rooms. The staff was extremely helpful and breakfast was ample and varied. However, the rooms are not adequately soundproofed and the road nearby disturbs sleep. The hotel does not have a restaurant, which is a drawback because the closest town is a 20minute drive. Also some of the grounds outside seem unattended.

We had a very relaxing 2 night stay in this excellent and good value country hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and whilst the restaurant is closed for the 2013 season the breakfast , snacks and drinks were all very good. It is a great location to visit Segesta which is only 10 minutes away, as well as Castellamarre , Trapani, and Palermo. A fantastic pool with no crowding - we has it all to ourselves for several hours. Very spacious rooms (superior) with good beds, air conditioning, shutters and good bathrooms. Will definitely come back again and would strongly recommend it. Motorway is very nearby but we did not hear any traffic and soon forgot about it.
