We were wondering if it was worthwile going for about 2km on a sandy road, to what might could even be a tourist-trap (we got the leaflet on the parking of the Segesta archeological site) but this was definitely the best place we had lunch at during our whole holidayweek in the Trapani-region. The setting is wonderful, in the middle of nowhere with a beautiful view on the surrounding nature from the terrace, the service is extremely friendly and the food is superb. The antipasto on its own was a complete meal for our children, and we only took one more dish (I had the pasta, my husband chose the secondo di carne). All excellent quality for a very low price. Our children had fun on the grass (plenty of space to play), while we were having a relaxing lunch.

Decided to eat here after receiving a flyer when we visited Segesta. Food and service were excellent. The only problem was the 2 Km drive on an unsurfaced track leading up in the back-of-beyond. The restaurant however was very busy with what appeared to be 'local' folk so it obviously didn't put them off. Glad we persevered.

We saw a sign for this restaurant when someone had directed us to a Pizza Restaurant in Segesta. I am so glad we drove and kept driving, undeterred by the graffiti signs to a neighboring restaurant on the highway underpass and the lack of appearance of anything indicative of human habitation. It is located on the opposite side of the hill from the Temple, but the route to get to it is around the mountain. Persistence will pay off in a lovely meal that was very reasonably priced! We shared an antipasti, which was more than enough for a midday meal! Thanks Tommy! So lovely to meet you! Don't miss this amazing Sicilian experience!

Popped in here for lunch whilst visiting western Sicily, and was not disappointed. Very low key, casual lunch affair on a shady terrace. The waiter spoke English (not always a given in these parts), which helped, and more importantly, upon realising we were not Italians, provided recommendations and reasons for that - very welcome. Instead of a primi and secondi, we had the typical Sicilian antipasti (excellent) and the homemade busiata with tomato and mince (also excellent). Add a carafe of local white wine and an espresso, and we were stuffed...and on top of it all, total price was EUR 40. Great place, highly recommended for a long, lazy Italian lunch.

As with other travellers we were given a flyer about this restaurant 'Baglio Segesta' by an old guy in the car park at the Segesta Ruins. After exploring the ruins we headed off in search of the restaurant which was an adventure in itself, under motorway bridges, over farmland ...etc. but we are not complaining and urge all of you to persevere for what awaits at the end of your journey is truly amazing - authentic home cooked Sicillian cuisine served in a rustic farmhouse. This is a family run establishment and they are very friendly and eager to answer any questions about their food and offer recommendations. The food was absolutely fabulous! If you go, be sure to have their platter of different Sicillian delicacies and don't miss the casatelle for dessert, It was so nice we had 2 lots each! Not to be missed!
