We stayed here for two nights on a last minute break and it was wonderful. The chateau and the grounds are lovingly restored and cared for by the owners. The breakfasts were the most beautiful and delicious I have had in a very long time. Our room was furnished with antiques and had a lovely view. The bathroom was spacious and immaculate. Anke is the perfect hostess. I felt like her guest, as did our elderly dog, Ruby. This is an enchanting place to stay and I would go out of my way to stay here again.

Anke is the perfect host. She genuinely appears to delight in welcoming visitors to her beautifully restored chateau. Met at the car complete with umbrella we were ushered to our magnificent room overlooking the wonderful gardens.

Our room was huge and charmingly decorated with many treasures (Anke and her husband also deal in antiques but are not afraid to spread them around the house for everyones enjoyment). Every thought had beed considered in providing all the amenities that we might have wanted. Even a very inexpensive mini-bar, which was a great surprise and a music system (complete with Anke's own CD playing). Candles, incense sticks, games, thousands of towels... the list goes on.

The information pack in the room contained everything we needed to know
about the local area, where to go, where to eat and what to see and includes personal recommendations from the hosts.

Our delicious and healthy breakfast was beautifully presented to us in our private dining room, complete with a log fire on the slightly chillier morning.

The surrounding village and countryside matches the beauty of the chateau and it's grounds and is perfect for short or long walks.

Altogether a fantastic place to relax and just getaway from it all. Thank you Anke.

What an amazing night we spent in this chateau!!! So great!!! My parents and their friends wanted to stay in a different place than a regular hotel, so if you are in Belgium is not difficult to get away to a charming and beautiful castle. So we booked this one... and it was a wise move!
The owners are very nice. The castle was in ruins and slowly they are working very hard to give it its ancient magnificence. And they had two lovely dogs... they were so friendly... :) :) :) :)
Our appartment was gorgeous, in one side of the castle, so we could play to Monopoly until three o'clock in the morning and nobody listened our shouts, complains and laughs... what a game!!! And poor Maribel... she lost all her properties :) :)
The breakfast was delicious and vast, served in the dining area of the apartment. By the way, the apartment had a private entrance hall and stairs, three rooms, two bathrooms, one kitchen and the dining area.
Everything was perfect, no space for complaints... maybe that we stay there just one night :(

Chateau de Hodbomont was fantastic. Anke (owner) did everything she could to ensure our needs were met. Breakfast was delivered to our room and was very good! The apartment was very spacious and kitchen had everything we needed. If you have small children, keep in mind they have 2 big dogs that are very friendly and like to get really close to smell/lick them. Definitely recommend this B&B to anyone.

If you want glitz and amenities....this is not the place for you. However if you want peace and quiet, a wonderfully relaxing environment, and wonderful hosts, you could not do better than this charming. Breakfast was wonderful.......bedroom was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The feeling of total relaxation was incredible. It felt like staying at the home of an old friend. Thank you to our fabulous hosts. Remember to follow the handwritten directions to the chateau and not rely in that new-fangled GPS thing in your car. Can't wait to go back.

As if you are living in a different century but with the luxury you need these days. The owners (and there lovely dogs) make you feel at home. The chateau is restored in it's original state. And they are still improving it. The antiques (Jugendstil) in the room & house are beautiful. Ask if you may have a look at the housechapel!
The breakfast is served downstairs and it is perfect: fresh fruit, bread, croissant, cheese, etc.
We love to walk and this is a perfect place to started walking. You can easily walk to Theux. Have lunch at the nice tearoom there and walk back.
The owner made a list of hikes & good restaurant in the neighbourhood.
They also rent an apartment for 4 or more people. With your own fireplace!

Room Tip: We stayed in the room left of the chateau. A beautiful sunny rounded room with big windows and a vie...
