We had a fantastic stay here. Our room (lower Melaleuca Pavillion with sea view) was great, food was amazing and the beach and pool areas were lovely but what really made it for us was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we felt nothing was a problem. Everyone knew our son's name and stopped to chat to him and made him feel very special! We were able to take him to the kids club even though he was too young (it's for children 4 years and above) as long as one of us stayed with him (or we could've paid for a babysitter) and he enjoyed being with the other children and was made to feel very welcome by the club staff. One night when he wasn't feeling well we called reception to get some more water and they showed genuine concern and offered to send the medic to our room. It wasn't anything serious and we didn't need the doctor to come but it was very comforting to know someone was available if necessary. We felt very comfortable in all the restaurants with him even if it was quite late in the evening. They brought him his own plastic cutlery and crayons and he had his own menu (kids under 4 eat free I believe) with lots of great choices. We were told if we wanted anything for him that wasn't on the menu just to let them know.

We found the food to be excellent in all the restaurants and in room dining and we particularly loved Ikan Ikan. We were there for 10 days and still didn't have enough time to try everything we wanted! As quite a few people have said on here food is expensive. We were on a half board package and we could choose to eat our evening meal at any of the restaurants or in our room and this meant we didn't really think about the cost but perhaps if we had just been on B&B we would have felt a little restricted by the price.

One highlight was the mangrove tour with Aldi. He is really inspirational and informative and funny too! Highly recommend doing it.

Overall this is a really great hotel especially if you have children. I don't want to give away all the little extras as I want future guests to be as surprised and touched by them as we were. We will definitely return.

One thing to note:
If you are bringing a pushchair and planning long walks with it around the resort you should be prepared the paths aren't really suitable for strollers. The paths are really just designed for the motorised buggies and they are cobbled and therefore fairly bumpy for a child in a Maclaren type pushchair. We didn't find this to be a problem though.

Rooms are very spacious and you really feel like there's no one around, even when sitting on the balcony. HOWEVER.... I was extremely surprised to find we were charged for internet $50usd for 2 nights stay is outrageous. Food by pool was very mixed quality - prawn salad excellent, chicken ceasar inedible, fish also inedible (frozen in the middle). To be fair, the service was excellent - they even managed to fix the hem of my dress within 4 hours! But even so, you could get an equally good resort for less than 2/3 of the price.

We spent four fantastic days at the resort, with everything being almost perfect: direct location of our villa on the beach, luxury service, delightful food, outstanding competence and kindness of all the personnel, great variety of activities, best massages and spa ever... But all this has a cost indeed!

Room Tip: The beach villas are a must (but really expensive)

I recently went there for a wedding. The overall arrangement was done by ms Jesse Lim which she did a superb job!

Room Tip: Rooms on the beach front are so much better!

We survived our 1st family holiday with two restless young ones aged 5 and 2.

It took us weeks to finally succumb to FS Langkawi's glowing reviews and picturesque property, simply because of its price. We did not regret our splurge.

Service was beyond excellent, it was perfect! Everyone made us feel truly special, every odd request was obliged, we were not just another family of guests. The grounds were breath-taking, even badly-taken shots turned out looking great. In 3D2N of unharried affairs, we still could not cover the whole 48 acres.

Our Lower Melaleuca Pavilion (501) was just wow. Even with an additional single bed and a cot, the sleeping and living area remained spacious. The bathroom area complete with a walk-through wardrobe, I could daresay, was larger than our very own bedroom back home. The backyard was just as huge, with an outdoor jacuzzi tucked away in the corner. The patio at the front of our room, with a traditional wooden pavilion by the side, was perfect for lounging in the sun.

Although my spa treatment was comparable to other places I've been to, albeit pricier, the treatment villa was amazing! It was a treat for my senses. Our children spent afternoons at the family pool, just a sheltered shallow corner but it was good enough to keep them happy as clams.

Why I rated Cleanliness as "Very Good" instead of "Excellent" was because of two in-room factors:
1. The wooden flooring in our room gets slippery when wet. It felt soapy as though the floor wasn't wiped thoroughly clean of the cleaning agents.
2. The outdoor jacuzzi was rust-stained and littered with dried flora. No one, except me, dipped our feet, nothing more.

With all that's said and done, we cannot wait to return. There were so many things left undone, the complimentary watersports, the unvisited restaurants, the other half of the resort. We returned home refreshed and rejuvenated. And I have to totally agree with DS, as he wept during checkout, "I will miss this place..."
