For those looking for a short break away from the pressures of the modern world (while still retaining some of the modern world's convenience, this is an excellent choice of hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is plentiful, varied and excellent quality (especially the breakfast), the rooms are large and well appointed, the sauna and pool area (which is clothing optional, so expect to see naked people there) is comfortable and well appointed and the area outside the hotel has a number of places for walking, hiking, riding or sightseeing.
There is a massage/wellbeing centre in the hotel but I cannot comment on its quality as I have not yet used it. There are also larger (self catering) family rooms but I have not used them.
I used public transport to get there and away (train from Aachen to Stolberg-Muelener-hbf then number 8 or 42 bus to hotel, which took between 45 and 90 minutes and 6 euros for the two trips.
I really cannot fault the hotel or staff for delightful time I had there. About the only criticisms I can think of are the too soft pillows, some of the cheesy music played in the dining rooms and the lack of BBC News on the TV (not their fault, obviously).More
