I have visited The Thomas Kemble several times and never been disappointed with the food. It gets very busy but the pager system to call you when your table is ready works well. The staff are very helpful - although always busy - which you would probably expect from such a well used restaurant.

Have eaten here on numerous occasions in the past and have always enjoyed the Sunday carvery but on the last few visits we have been very disappointed. The meat you get is sliced very thin by the chef and you will only get 2 small slices, if you want a bit more meat they will charge you an additional £1-50. The beef recently has been very chewey, not very nice at all. The vegetables e.g. carrots, peas, runner beans cabbage are not cooked enough and are very hard, you will be lucky to get a fork in them! The lunch is £9-49 and if you want a decent portion on meat an extra £1-50 so I think at almost £11 per person is not the best price around. If you have a soft drink with your dinner I. e. glass of coke that will be another £2-30 a glass. We will not return there for a while and hope the meals improve in the meantime.

I visit the Thomas Kemble on a weekly and can honestly say for the quality and price of the food (always a special offer on) you can't go far wrong. It is always busy on a Sunday and depending on the size of your party you will probably have between a 30 minutes to an hour wait. You may find that if you visit late in the evening meat or a few items may have run out, but that can be expected depending on how busy they may have been. Overall good food and good service.
