We stayed at Savelburg just across the street. Savelburg as well as this bistro are set in a beautiful park away from the busy streets of Den Hague. It is a beautiful setting. So peaceful and serene.
The first night that we stayed at Savelburg, that was the day that their restaurant was closed so they recommended that we go to Brasserie De Koepel. We walked out of the hotel, crossed the street and saw the brasserie set next to the tennis courts. It was a round building with lots of windows for viewing the beautiful park. As we reached for the door to open it, we did not have to, it was opened for us and we were warmly greeted. They sat us near a window. The room was cozy and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed a lovely meal and some very good wine. The cooking was savory and there was a lot of attention to detail. You could really tell they didn't miss anything, that they were really into what they were doing here. The staff was spectacular. Always checking. Really incredible service and attention to detail. I would highly recommend this brasserie as well as staying at Savelburg.
By the way, the park appeared to have a little zoo. Also, the grounds behind Savelburg are beautiful and lead up to a canal. We were lucky enough to have a room with a large terrace that faced out back. Just lovely. The whole area is a hidden gem.
Thank you so much!
