Good Hotel; spatious rooms; breakfast and dinners great; of good quality.
We had our pre-easter weekend .
Good areas where you can be together as a group for pre-dinner drinks. We were 11 family members.
Surroundings interesting with Maastricht Liège and Aachen near by.
The spot on the Vaalserberg where 3 countries come together is rather touristy. However the maze is much fun.
Carting was also fun.
Landscape is lovely especially the valley of the Geul river.
We had a great time

Bloemendal is one of those Pearls. It is a great Castle and staff is most gentle. We come here for over 10 years for cycling the Limburgs Mooiste race and it is a great retreat. Whatever purpose you are for in Limburg Bloemendal will be a great stay.

This is a very good hotel - it is used a lot by tour groups I think.
Rooms are good sized and there is a nice garden outside to stroll in.
We had breakfast there but it cost an additional 16 Euros 50 cents and it was just a buffet, having to fight the tour groups for access to coffee etc. That was disappointing.

Location: Close to the point where Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands meet. This is a nice castle transformed into a hotel. Large grounds, nice for a walk.
We felt very welcome when we checked in. Room was large, very clean. Large bathroom with good lighting. We enjoyed a few drinks and appetizers on the beautiful outdoor terrace. Free parking.
Wonderful restaurant: delicious, well-prepared dishes, great service.
This hotel deserves a 5 star review.
Just a few minor things: I would like to see a full length mirror somewhere in the room. Door key malfunctioned twice.
Praise for the honesty and the extra care of the staff: I left my e-reader, was called by the manager, e-reader was forwarded to my next destination. Thank you so much!
Tip: check for special packages including half board, great deals!

Room Tip: I liked our room in the castle itself.

December is one of those months that you are looking forward to but when it arrives you think of all the activities, preparations, busy schedules, family, etc etc. The hangover comes in January when things get back to normal and you start looking forward to that same period that ran you down.

We decided to skip the hustle and bustle last year and stay at the hotel after spending 4 days in it the month before. No second thoughts and it decision we did not regret.

The package included breakfast and grand diner. With music, dance (no we did not partake). Enjoying the people enjoying themselves, dressing up etc etc. Many tastings of different wines, dishes and the colorful characters (a bit stiff mostly to be honest) where part of the show.

We had one of the theme suits. Excellent bed (Suisse Sense), beautiful bathroom with whirlpool (bath for one person). Flatscreen, fridge, beautiful view from the windows.

Staff was great. We will certainly go back as Vaals is a great starting point for trips to Germany (Aachen, Eifel) and Belgium. Don’t forget to visit Gulpener and Brand breweries (especially the first one, GREAT food)

Stayed: December 2017
