This old turn of the century mercantile turned B&B is a real hidden gem.! Off the highway, rooms were quiet and clean, very comfortable, reflecting the history of the times while supplying all the modern conveniences. Our hosts (chefs) were friendly, informative, and paid attention to the smallest details. Meals were delicious and served family style so that one might take as much or as little as desired. Great fishing area, and good walks . Next time..2 nights.

Warm and friendly place with hosts dedicated to excellence. Piles of white fluffy towels and bathrobes in every room. Excellent fly fishing close by. Stayed for five days with a Road Scholar group. Entire group was very pleased.

Traveling through on our way to BC and found this little gem in the rough. My family and I had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before but now will keep our eyes out for signs that say B&B! The room was great, very clean and cozy. We even had a nice view. The owners are very friendly and knowledgable about the area. My mother and I walked through the town and there was a wonderful little walking trail by the river. The breakfast in the morning was delisious and even the fellow travelers were great company. I would reccomend this B&B to anyone.

We stayed at Country Encounters when our Mother passed away in March. Dawn and Mark were amazing hosts, so kind and welcoming. The place was so clean and cozy, I had the best sleep ever. Dawn and Mark put out a wonderful meal for all of us friday night and also a tasty breakfast the following morning. We also loved the cookie station lol. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance, because looks can be deceiving. My family absolutely loved staying there and will definitely come back. Thanks again to Mark and Dawn for their hospitality during such a sad time in our lives.
Regards,
The family of Mary Craven

We have been staying at the guest house every year for the past 6-7 years and have no plans to stop. We keep coming back both because it's the perfect accommodation for us and our dog and because Dawn and Mark are perfect hosts. They made us feel welcome from the very first visit and we now look forward to catching up with them every year. They are very personable and happy to share their extensive knowledge of the area. Both are fabulous chefs as well! The guest house has everything we need after a day out fishing or exploring. The kitchen is well stocked and the new pillow top beds are especially comfortable. The house is in a quiet neighborhood and only a couple blocks from the Crowsnest River and the pathway that follows the river for miles. The back deck and yard, though not totally fenced in, is a perfect place to hang out. As for what the Crowsnest Pass area offers, it's one of the most beautiful places we have found. We can't wait for our next trip.
