Just returned from a vacation/fly fishing trip in Alberta and spent the last three nights at the York Creek Bed and Breakfast. This place is tucked away on the side of a hill (behind a residential area) with stunning views of the nearby mountains. The Innkeepers, Ann and Ken, were so helpful and welcoming. And oh, the breakfast! There were 3 of us and we talked about Ann's waffles for days (I am not kidding...they were fabulous)! But it wasn't just the waffles, all the breakfasts were wonderful! Ken gave us tips on some local fishing spots and they were both so very helpful with places to check out in the area. The beds were very comfortable and the place was very clean and decorated with beautiful pictures Ann has taken of the area! Oddly enough there was a severe thunderstorm while we were there and the entire town lost power for a few hours but our emergency lights came right on providing ample lighting, even so, Ann quickly made sure we had flashlights should we need them. We loved Canada and plan to return and will definitely stay here if we are anywhere close by. It felt like we had known Ann and Ken for years …thanks for making our stay so nice!

Room Tip: If there are more than 2 of you consider staying in the apartment on the first floor. It is huge and has private entrance and kitchen area. Lots of fishing nearby and lots of interesting landmarks in this beautiful area of Canada.

Hosts Anne & Ken were great! Very nice and comfortable. Highly recommended. Very good location with great views. Nice Great room to mingle with other guests. Wheelchair accessible. The drive though Crowsnest pass was nice. Concrete available for motorcycle parking.

We stayed here with three very polite, mild-mannered kids between the ages of 11 and 17. The hostess was immediately intrusive and shaming of the children and it became clear she has never been a parent herself. When our children used the hot tub in the manner in which they had been instructed by the hostess, she became quite upset. She interrupted our meal and without speaking to parents privately grilled our teen in front of everyone in an accusing manner for adjusting the hot tub temperature, although there has been no verbal instructions and no sign posted giving instructions not to do this. She also followed the children during our stay, complaining loudly about having to clean up after them. We all had a strong sense of being at the home of someone with an unresolved family history of their own and consequently we were quite happy to leave the intrusive hostess presence despite having enjoyed the food and good quality beds. Don't go here unless you have no children or are unfazed about spending your vacation with a slightly grumpy childless aunt.

I have stayed with Ken and Ann three fabulous times and already have it booked for next year! Their beautiful lodge is tucked away from the highway in Coleman, and has great views of the mountains. After a peaceful nights rest in very comfortable beds and very clean rooms, be treated to a gourmet home cooked /baked breakfast! Ken and Ann are like family. They support local businesses and are very accommodating for active travellers ( riders, runners etc).

We arrived to an inviting friendly welcome and immediately felt like we were at home. The rooms were clean and inviting. The common area was very cozy with gorgeous views. The breakfast part of this B & B is outstanding. Ann really knows her way around the kitchen. Ken was very helpful with directing us to trails and letting us know what to expect when we got there. Overall this was a fantastic experience.

Room Tip: If you are with your family the " Nest " is the place to be!
