“Fantastic !!”
Reviewed 29 October 2011

We have just spent 10 days at Hacienda Del Alamo Golf Resort in the fantastic hospitality of MuciaVillas HDA.

I must say this resort is going to be wonderful. It is already picture perfect, clean, tidy and very well maintained.

The people are friendly, happy and helpful & made our stay very welcome.

The clubhouse is of a very high standard and the spanish village will certainly become the place to be.

The golfcouse is huge and goes further than your eyes can see! it is very well maintained and in lovely surroundings.

The Spainard pub offers fantastic value for money and an excellent dining experience... You have to try the Hot Stone Steak *Delicious!*

Overall a brilliant, up and coming Golf resort - we will definately be returning....SOON!

Matt & Emma

just back from 2 weeks in this lovely golf resort . Reading the previous reviews they seem to have been a couple of years old and referred to the fact that it was a construction site. Happy to report that all constrcution seems to be complete now , and while there are a lot of empty units there is enough going on now to enjoy a 2 week vacation.
firstly the villas are beautiful , we had a shared pool but it may as well have been our own private pool. All bedrooms with bathroom , lovely gardens /living area , tv etc .
Most nights we went out but it was no problem to eat in as kicthen fully kitted out and barbeque area also.
on site the Spaniard Inn was a vibrant pub with a really good food service. Every night they have a grill bar with steaks , burgers etc , while we were there they had many theme nights with Giant Paella, Roast Hog on a spit etc . These tended to attract large crowds of approx 100 , so booking was essential. Added bonus was the fact that they showed ALL premier league football matches plus some rugby matches while we were there , they also have free wi-fi.
the palatial clubhouse is lovely to have a drink on the terrace , and maybe a quick snack. We didnt eat in the dining room , but on a friday night they have a lovely fish n chip night with live music.
As for the course itself it is absolutely the best course in the area, the European tour qualifying school visit here every oct/nov . The town of Fuente has many local restaurants which we tried and offered basic good value Spanish fare. Further afield there are great restaurants in Los Alcazarez about 20 mins drive. Beaches we tried were La Manga, Mazzaron and Isla Plana , all beautiful. In short its a lovely place for a relaxing holiday , you will need a car as there isnt a whole lot open on site , eg the hotel still not open but for value for money it cant be beaten.

Booked a 3 bedroom villa on this complex after previously being at 2 different Polaris World Resorts, and was given the impression that this resort was 5 Star Luxury - how wrong can you be.
The resort is far from finished and hotel and surronding purpose built town are empty and the area feels like a 'Ghost Town', described in the literature as being a thriving town within a town, how wrong!
At an estimate I would say that approx 50% of the villas are un-occupied and tend to look run-down.
The villa we stayed in was adequate, with the outside pool area being excellent, but the inside of the villa was not what I would class as luxury, numerous electrical problems (and no not just the normal Spanish issues), an oven with no shelves, lack of basic cleaning materials to allow you to keep on top of the place as you would at home, an aircon system that was far from adequate for the size of the villa and was extremely noisey.
The sports facilities are first class within the resort, however the golf on the resort is not for the first time golfers, people at the Golf academy and Clubhouse will treat you as a second class citizen if you ask to hire a club for a practice.
Overall Murcia region is an excellent holiday venue, but I would not recommend staying at this resort complex until the Hotel and surrounding shopping area are fully open, then it will be a lovely resort to spend your holiday at.

Room Tip: Check before you book position of villa in relation to empty and unsold properties

The Hacienda Del Alamo result will be great, its all there i.e. great course, lovely villas and apartments. Its just that due to the recession most of the villas and all of the apartments are not yet filled. The resort is spotlessly clean, but lacks variety due to the resort still feeling as though its in ints infancy. Eventually this will be cracking, the infrastruture is absolutely 5 star, however, it just needs a more vibrant atmosphere which will only come when people start investing in their dream properties.

This Resort is amazing.Super luxury and beautifully maintained.Every tree from the entrance was perfectly manicured. The villas are all luxurious some have infinity pools. The Hotel is amazing all suites with their own splashpools. The golf is top class and so is the Tennis Academy. There is also green bowls, football and rugby.Fuente town holds colourful
market every Saturday and there are markets everyday in the surrounding towns.
The Resort is 30mins form St Javier (Murcia Airport) and 50 mins from Alicante Airport.
Cartegena 21 mins away we timed it.Has all the shops Superstores eg the biggest EL CORTES in Spain and charming cobbled street filled with resturants and boutiqes.
A wonderful port lined with resturants.A cruise ship was in port whilst we were there.
For us a perfect holiday but not for people who like resorts such as Benidom.

We can highly recommend this golf resort. It is in our opinion, the best in Spain.
The resort is 5 Star and kept in immaculate condition. It has 24 hr security and is gated.
The golf course is the longest in Spain and not for the faint hearted. Although there is the 6 hole academy course which is a lot easier.
The European Tour is holding their tournament there in November.
The clubhouse is pure luxury, everything you could want, gourmet restaurant, bars, billiards room, WiFi Internet, Sauna and Massage.
The Mercadona Supermarket is 4 minutes from the entrance and is huge, with a fresh fish counter that knocks you for six! The tennis academy is floodlit and so are the football pitches, so it's great to have a game when its cooler in the evenings.
The Villa we stayed at, had every convenience, including full air conditioning and also had beautiful gardens. It was surrounded by mountains and beautiful unspoilt beaches and coves. This is a classy resort, for classy people

This is supposed to be a major development already up and running - it is a building site at best and a dust trap at worst. It is true that a number of villas are occupied but many are still up for sale. Unfortunately it was too hot to venture out onto the golf course as it was very inviting and the facilities for golf I am sure are exceptional. The remainder is a long way off being completed and I think for anyone using the resort for any other reason than golf then consider another venue.
The Spanish village where we stayed was a ghost town although there is one kiosk now open, all the bars and shops were unlet and empty (apart from the shop offering letting services).
The hotel is still unfinished, the pub and cafes are no longer open. I was advised that the original developer fell out with the bank and that the bank is running things now - not a good sign.
Finally it is miles from any real tourist areas. The local town does have a few shops and a supermarket. It is a sleepy town but can provide most basics. Big supermarkets are 30 minutes away by car.
The airport (San Javier) is a good 45 minutes away so the advertising for an airport 20 minutes away relates to Murcia Airport - not San Javier.
If you are going make sure you get a villa with pool at least you may get someone to talk to.
