We stayed in the self-catering cottage in October '11 and were there for a week. You couldn't ask for a more peaceful area, beautifully done cottage, and lovely grounds... not to mention how picturesque the main house is! The cottage has a loft bedroom upstairs (watch your head getting out of bed!) with a small bathroom and tub (no shower). The little fire stove in the main living area will certainly heat the cottage up for the night during the cold months. Decor is simple and well done; gorgeous dining table. When we were there it was rutting season for the stags... and they bellowed all night! We recorded them a few times. Almost eerie, but calming at the same time. Coming from the hustle and bustle of the Dallas, TX area, this was the most relaxing and soothing experience of our two-week trip. Most certainly off the typical tourist path, there is still much to do in the Ardgour (and Ardamurchan) area if you're interested in nature. Even just walking down the little one-lane road to the stone bridge and beyond we couldn't have been happier! Agree with another reviewer, Ft. William was a bit of a let down, but from this spot you can go to so many places: Glen Coe, Glen Etive, Sanna, Mallaig, even up to Loch Ness if you have the energy. Also visited the Isle of Lismore based off of a post we'd seen Anna & Norrie place on facebook prior to our trip. Wonderful place to stay!

We stayed in the lovely little self-catering cottage for three nights, and it was just what the doctor ordered. Quiet, cozy and comfortable; we had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Modern furnishings, comfy bed, well-stocked kitchen with everything you're likely to need for a long weekend or longer!

Room Tip: There are two properties under the name Ard Daraich, one is B&B-style accommodation in the larger house, and the other is a small self-catering cottage.

We had a wonderful week - it really is a special place to stay. Perfectly situated to do as much (or as little) walking and sight seeing as you want, whilst also offering the perfect space to relax, unwind, cook delcious food and curl up on the sofa in front of the fire with a glass of wine. Heavenly!

We have just come back from Ard Daraich and can not believe we are back in London! The place is magical to say the least, amazing scenery and fabulous walks. We stayed in the self-catering cottage which is more than equipped with everything one needs to cook wonderful meals using local produce, get comfy in front of the fire and enjoy the fabulously stocked bookcases. It is a home from home and then some. Fresh white linen on the bed, candles and tealights make the cottage romantic and heavenly. One is really looked after..

It is remote but isn't that what one looks for in the Scottish Highlands? Beware of the cost of ferries as the Corran ferry is £6.70 a single and the Mull ferry costs over £30 with the car. It is, however, a day trip you must make when you are there.

Book this wonderful place for a proper break...and book it now before everyone finds out....

Mum & I's third night on our trip around Scotland - what a fantastic find. Anna kindly recommended somewhere to eat and booked us a table, and we were greeted warmly at Ard Daraich by Anna and friendly Kubrick their labrador. After unpacking in our beautiful room, we sat in the lounge by the roaring fire with a pot of tea & coffee and then took a tour of the garden and the loch with Kubrick in tow!! Lovely comfy bed, beautiful linen and feather pillows - bliss. Norrie cooked us a great breakfast and then even booked Mum a doctor's appointment. We left feeling thoroughly well looked after...and wanting to come back.
