We stayed in the garden studio and as Norrie commented when we arrived, we picked the perfect week as the Rhododendrons were in full bloom- a riot of colour and so many different species, a gardeners dream. We had fresh eggs from the chickens, fresh salad from the garden, venison and home made jams and chutneys. The studio is tastefully decorated with a lovely wood burner and as much wood as we needed. It felt very homely, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The king size bed was really comfortable with fine cotton sheets, feather duvet and pillows. The surrounding area is magical, Loch Linnhe is across the road, there we saw a colony of seals and at night watched the full moon cast its reflection on the water. Nearby we walked by the river and saw two golden eagles way up in the sky, it was breathtaking. Anna and Norrie were wonderful hosts, and so helpful with good local knowledge of where to visit. We can't wait to return.

We stayed at the cottage which is part of the Ard Daraich B+B and available for rentals all year round. The cottage has been designed with the artisitic flair of the owner, but also combines top quality fixtures and fittings. It is a wonderfully comfortable and peaceful place for a relaxing getaway, with special features we enjoyed that included; a comfortable bed with top quality bedding, a cozy bathroom for a long soak after walking and a wood burning stove.
It's the area which is so stunning. A magical part of Scotland with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, hills, waterways and colours. This is the ideal place to base oneself and relax. You can feel the silence.

Room Tip: My general tips for the cottage would be to pack plenty of appropriate clothing for the variety of w...

This truly is a wonderful peaceful location. The house itself is full of charm, history and character.
The house is spotless and Norrie and Anna are very sociable and accomodating with lots of interesting stories to tell. Norrie's breakfasts are to die for too! What an amazing spread!
If you want a delightful place to stay then this makes a perfect base to venture out for the day and return to the warmth and welcome of a log burner and perfect hosts.

Exactly the right balance at this lovely home full of character and charm and that is matched by the owners Anna and Norrie. We arrived to a warm welcome shown to our rooms and then offered the use of the Lounge complete with a roaring woodburner which Norrie kept fully loaded a beautiful room to enjoy a G&T or two in and so to bed and what a large comfortable bed it was, superb quality linen a really goodnights sleep in a lovely spacious homely room complete with ensuite.Breakfast was a very enjoyable experience really fresh fruit - cereals - and perfectly cooked breakfast with the addition of Homemade jams and honey all wrapped together with very good conversation and information on the local area supplied by Anna & Norrie which as the day unfolded turned out to be very useful.Ard Daraich is now in the list for future visits and it wont be for just one night next time.

We stayed here as a stopping point after being on Mull and needing to head to Glasgow. It was the highlight of the week, and we wish we could have stayed longer than one night. Anna and Norrie are so friendly, warm and welcoming - we could have happily have chatted to them all day! The room was beautifully furnished and the homemade quilt was a lovely touch. The breakfast was delicious with home made jams and honey. I can't recommend this place enough!

We stayed for (only) 3 nights -in the wonderful house- once the home of Norrie's parents! It is an exceptional house with a warmth, comfort and care for details. We would not have left if we had not booked our next stay ! Rooms are well sized and equipped with beds that make you feel wrapped in a cloud ( one softly disappears)-

Everything had that personal touch including the lavish breakafast including with the jams made by Anna and Norrie : they were ...amazing. Our stay was further enriched by the tips on where to go and eat. After 2 weeks of touring Scotland we agreed that Ardnamurchan was our best location and stay ( http://www.ardnamurchan.com/about-ardnamurchan/area/strontian/) Do not keep it a secret- spread the gospel about Ard Daraich-Better go there and stay with Anna and Norerie and enjoy!!

Charming, helpful hosts with great knowledge of local area and their amazing garden, and nothing too much trouble for Anna and Norrie. We felt very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Comfortable room with fab bed linen and delicious breakfasts. Shelves and walls bursting with books and art, cosy sitting room to warm yourself in if it rains (or after that walk). A magical place with beautiful flowers, trees, sweeping views. Norrie’s garden tour and his passion and devotion for it with a personal relationship with each plant was a special.
