Dear Daviine,
thks a lot for your kind review, just one explanation for all the people who follow Trip Advisor: we are NOT OUTSIDE Trieste, Opicina is the name of a prestigiuos residential zone of Trieste's Municipality where there are a lot of historical Villas of the Habsburg period. The downtown is far from our villa 4 km and there are a lot of buses that arrive downtown in no more than 10-15 min.
Moreover we have 3 rooms: one with 2 single beds and the other 2 with the double beds ( King size). I always tell to my guests which kind of room is available and happens that someone choose another b&b if they dont like the 2 separate beds. For breakfast we offer not only italian breakfast, but also cereals, yogurth, fresh fruits, ham and cheese. Probably you were disappointed because we dont cook eggs. Anyway thank you again to have choosen our b&b, see you next time!

We stayed 5 days along with our family. Grandparents, my girlfriend, our sons and me. Firstly, when I managed the trip, and I asked the details about apartment, locations more times I got the answer always. It was the first good impression. Secondly, the rooms were cleaned every days, the beds were comfortable, the bathrooms are modern. P.s: Trust me! My ratings are strictly, because I have got an apartment in Budapest also:) If could I notice a small suggest, the owner should looking for an other WI-FI service, because it was sometimes not in order. Best wishes, Attila Balatoni, Hungary, Budapest

A charming little B&B with a very welcoming atmosphere. The Villa Albori is located in Opicina, close by Trieste in the extreme north-east Italy.
The hotel is centrally located in Opicina, which is a small town with several very good restaurants as well as the usual selection of shops, post office etc. There is free on street parking right outside.
The room I had was very nicely set up, with free wifi and tv. It was very clean with a nice bathroom. It also had its own door opening into the garden which is delightful.
Breakfast was delicious - very fresh baked goods, fruit, yoghurt etc, and plenty of excellent coffee. Fulvia takes very good care of you!
Very good value for money.

A great find, very close to Trieste centre (we hired a car and it was about 10 mins drive, if that). Nice to be in the suburbs. Well appointed, clean room which felt like home. The garden is well cared for and we enjoyed lazing around by the pool during our first morning there. There is an excellent restaurant "trattoria" a couple of doors down, as well as a good few pizzerias to choose from. The Piazzi family were kind, and very helpful.

Looking for the ideal base from which to explore Trieste and its hinterland, we found the Villa Albori in Opicina. Parking is free in Opicina and the bus that takes you down to Trieste stops right in front of the Villa Albori.

Fulvia, our lovely hostess, started her b&b three years ago, equipping the villa from 1880 with all modern comforts, while respecting its original grandeur. Meaning that your unusually large room comes with an unusually large shower in its unusually big bathroom and also meaning that, when the weather gets really hot, you can turn on the A/C or just enjoy the wifi next to the swimming pool in the unusually well cared for and unusually large garden.

Your Italian will never be as good as the ever helpful Fulvia's English, so no worries there, stranger! History, museums, restaurants,... just ask, help is at hand and the smile is free.

Only one question remains: why are most tourists only passing through? Passing through Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, passing through Trieste, passing through Opicina... This region has a lot more to offer than people give it credit for. Stick around for a couple of days. You can start right here: at the Villa Albori, your home away from home.

Grazie mille per le belle vacanze, Fulvia!

I opted to stay in Opicina instead of Trieste and was happy to find Villa Albori, a lovely old house situated in an inviting garden. The villa is just steps away from the bus line, making the trip to Trieste quick and easy. My room was clean and comfortable and the Piazzi family were wonderful hosts. I would most definitely recommend it to others and would stay there again myself.

We didn't want to stay in central Trieste, and so opted for this lovely Villa an easy and inexpensive bus trip away from the center of Trieste. It was probably about 20 minutes from the bus stop, which was about 5 minutes from the Villa Albori, and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for a bus. Fulvia, who along with her husband own the Villa, spoke fluent English and was one of the more friendly folks we met on our recent trip to Europe, and extremely helpful with respect to our questions and needs.

Room Tip: I doubt that there is a bad room in this small hotel. We stayed on the second floor, with a view of...
