As a local I tend to avoid Kaiteriteri Beach in the busy (summer) season. It has a lot of cars, people, boats, and water taxi boats coming and going. BUT the setting is divine....golden golden unbelievable golden sands, blue skies, great swimming (stay out of the boat lanes, though). The windy road there is being upgraded, so there are a few roadworks, but a wonderful cycle path is being built too. It is very close to Abel Tasman national Park and a good place to take a boat ride (taxi) to the park. The boats go right to the beach so you walk on and off.

Lovely golden sands blue sea it is a busy tourist place in summer but still lovely has a motor camp and pub/restaurant over looking beach. Has a boat ramp at the end of the beach. Has a safe little side lagoon for kids as well.

A lovely beach in very scenic setting. Little Kaiteriteri beach is even a little bit nicer as it is not on a main street.

This is a great beach, with lots of options to access the amazing national park.

If your there for a little while, make sure you take a walk along the coastal path.

We walked to Dummy Bay and back. There are some great views.
