“Perfectly located, all very familiar, but could do better”
Reviewed 11 August 2013

Perfectly pleasant, and perfectly adequate, but it won't be for everyone. The complex is in two parts; we stayed in Vega A, and during the peak season, it suffers less from the almost intolerable Friday and Saturday night, all-night disco on the Marina (Vega B is immediately adjacent to the disco, so what it must be like if you're staying there...!!) The apartment was adequate, but it depends on the individual owner really. We had no hot water in the bathroom and were able to identify the problem and rectify it in a very heath-robinson-type manner, but were informed by the manager or the site that it would only be remedied once we left. Not entirely safe, then. The grounds are maintained really well, as are the pools and it's very pleasant, but over-crowded in the busy peak season. Far too many apartments and far too little space around the pool, resulting in an unseemly scramble for loungers. The sort of thing that can ruin your holiday, being forced to behave in that cliched manner of having to bag your lounger as soon as you get up in the morning! And there's no need for it, really. Plenty of space to build another pool, or at the very least provide more loungers on the grassy area just above the pool. The situation is not helped by the fact that anyone can walk in off the street, buy a drink at the bar and use the pool. Holidaymakers renting the apartments are effectively subsidising anyone who wants to use the pool. Ah, the pool bar. If you like the heavy bass beat pounding out from the stereo speakers all day long, and into the evening, then this is the place for you, the barman will happily oblige. But if that kind of thing is not your thing, then this is not the place for you.

Stayed in block A4, fantastic apartment, very spacious, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lovely big balcony with sea-view. Stands back from block B so you do not get the noise from marina bars.St Vlas is lovely with upmarket marina, gorgeous beaches, and many classy restaurants. Nearby are Sunny Beach and Nessebar with its Quaint cobbled streets and lovely seafood restaurants plus many more and lots of nic-nac shops. Would highly recommend Vega Village and St Vlas as a place to holiday.

Room Tip: Block B, quieter than block A

The complex Vega Village is this year even better than when we have been here before. The gardens and pools are beautifully maintained and the apartments are huge and well appointed.
The surrounding area has every type of restuarant and bar you could wish for and the beaches are wonderful. The Dinevi Marina area looks high class and is slightly more expensive than other places but well worth a visit. The only thing that lets this stunning resort down is the noise from the Marina nightclubs at the week ends, the constant boom, boom, boom of the deep base clubbing music goes on from mid-night until 6am and makes it impossible to sleep. I spoke to so many apartment owners who are selling their property because they can stand it no longer, and nearly every tourist we spoke to said that although they loved the area, they would never come back because of the constant throbbing of the overnight music. It is a shame the owners are not sophisticated enough to realise that the best marinas in the world don't allow this chav like behaviour and would never let the actions of so few spoil the vacations of so many

This place was ideal, good bed sizes all ensuite and the place had 4 balconies the main one overlooking the pool.
The apartment was great, could not fault it and close by were excellent selection of beach bars and a marina very close by.
Would recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a comfortable well facilitated stay at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Choose apartment B50 on the top floor of B block.

we went to Bulgaria which is somewhere that we have never visited and thought it might make a change from the usual European holidays. We stayed in saint vlas which is a very up market marina, lots of fine dining, bars and lovely views. Amazing beach bars and seating facilities on the beach were amazing, swinging beds and corner sofas. Caters for all age groups including children. A lovely Bar/restaurant next to the complex played fantastic music and there were bands that played live that are apparently quite famous in Bulgaria. We listened to it all from our balcony. The complex it self is in a great location, right on the beach, apartments quite large and next to everything you need. Sunny beach is the large resort near by, great shops especially those who like a bit of fake. For younger groups this is a great place as loads of clubs and bars. Khan tent is a restaurant with a show in the mountains, great place for everyone. Loved Bulgaria and the people are very welcoming will go back again for sure.

Just have to share our experience of Vega Village and Vlas with you all as we had such a great time.....

This is a penthouse apartment with four balconies; each bedroom (one with a kingsize bed and en-suite bathroom, the other with twin beds) has a huge balcony overlooking the pool, beach, entrance to the Dinevi Marina (car spotters would be in their element!), and has views over to Sunny Beach and the wonderful peninsular of Old Nessebar. The beds are very comfortable and the air con units in each of the bedrooms are a godsend.

The kitchen area is well equipped with a full size fridge, washing machine, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker, kettle and it even has a small safe on the wall which is not charged for by the very helpful owner who is English and lives in the UK. We found this little treasure on the Holiday Lettings website and would have no hesitation in recommending the site, the owner and the property. The kitchen also has a huge balcony which overlooks another Vega Village block of apartments and it's two swimming pools. The kitchen vista also takes in the upper part of St. Vlas which nestles at the end of the Balkan Mountain range. All in all, the views are stunning in every direction and due to each door comprising floor to ceiling windows, the apartment is very light, bright and airy. All balconies are furnished with chairs and there is also a table and sun brolly provided.

The lounge area has a double and single sofa bed, full size table and chairs, television and dvd player so all in all a very well furnished property.

The apartment is three minutes from the local (public) beach and the marina; there is a helipad situated at the end of the quay where you can take flights around the beautiful bay and we would also recommend catching the little boat across to Nessebar; the old part of town is set on a peninsular which is a UNESCO heritage sight - cobbled streets and ancient ruins are set amongst residential houses, restaurants and some very quaint shops selling everything you can think of. All shop owners in the area were very courteous and not pushy at all which made a refreshing change for us. Given the age of the town and the obvious development for the benefit of us tourists, the place retains a great deal of charm and everything and there is a special feel about the place. There is a ferry port situated here as well. The only thing which marred our day here a little bit was the number of gypsy type folk who lurk outside the entrance to the Old Town - I know they are merely trying to sell their neck/bracelets but really, when you have been accosted by 11 (my son counted!) within 2 minutes it gets a bit much. Please remember they are not stupid either - lots of levs can be lost once your purse is in your hand!

The village of St. Vlas has numerous restaurants - the local cuisine is good; fresh fish, meat and vegetables in abundance, all at a price to suit every budget depending what sort of dining experience you are looking for. Try the "satch", a huge metal plate piled high with meat of your choice, vegetables and cheese - delicious! Order one between two though unless you are in training for Mr/Miss Universe! There is a Chinese restaurant in the square and also at the marina - fantastic portions, the biggest I have ever had (and I eat chinese alot!). The souvenir shops are fairly priced and the goods are marked up so no haggling necessary if that is the way you like it. There is a central square which comes alive each evening with music and dancing. All nationalities can be found here and not once did we encounter any trouble in the two weeks we were there.

There is a good local bus service to Sunny Beach and beyond - prices from 1 lev for a 20 minute journey into Sunny Beach means you can get there for 60p! There are several water parks in the area too.

The beach is furnished with beds and parasols (chargeable) and has a very good, clean restaurant to keep you nourished while there. The sea is warm, calm and non-tidal, ideal for the little ones to splash about in and you can walk out along way before exceeding your depth. There is a bouncy platform with a slide each end which the children love and it only costs 5 lev (approx £2.70) for an hour. The beach has life guards and a Blue Flag (though how it got this is a bit baffling in the scheme of things - I live in St. Ives, Cornwall and Porthminster Beach was stripped of its flag this year and in my opinion is much better all round than the one I am telling you about!). Walk through the marina and another more open beach welcomes you. Watersports can be found at both beaches.

I have just read this back and it seems rather long so I will just leave you with your thoughts and thank you for your time.....if you do decide to go here, rest assured it will not break the bank and you will have a very nice time!

My husband and I stayed here for two weeks 1-15th Oct. We booked through Voyager and Sarah Ensell who arranged it was very helpul. We flew from Teesside our local airport in the middle of the day and the transfers were included with the price of £350 each. We were self catering but there were plenty of cheap places to eat .I loved the Shepherds' Salad and it was only 5 lev.The Vega Village restaurant was over the road from our appartments and George was very friendly, the food was good and very reasonably priced. You pay for the meat/fish and separately for sautes(delicious fried in dill) etc.The Riviera was across the road on the other side of our apartments and the girls serving were also very good.We were given a two bedroom apartment with four balconies,( probably won't be that lucky again) it had everything you needed. It was very modern and a maid came in every day (once the management realised we had come through Balkan Holidays). The pool area was between us and the beach and we found it quiet, the drinks were the same price as the beach bar but cheaper in the Riviera and Vega. The sea was amazing you could go out as far as the markers and it was still fairly shallow and so warm and clean as were the beaches. We just bought a couple of towels from the main square shopping area for 5 lev and laid on the sand.Other bars along the beach owned by locals were cheaper. The marina was near and very posh it was more expensive to eat at these restaurants. We ate at the main square the Terrace was good, didn't think much of the English bar but found a good place to eat right opposite (Rubens), Rossininis also excetionally good -opposite a large supermarket that we used for bread and milk.( you can only get uht). The bus service is regular to Sunny Beach (1 lev) and Nessebar, (2 lev) but watch out for beggars here in the old town and pick pockets everywhere where there is a crowd. The lager is only 1lev near where the bus drops off. We found a couple of places on the way to the beach ( in Sunny Beach) where lager was only 1 lev a large glass they had whole pigs and chickens cooking on show on rottisaries. Look out for Chris a really friendly guy who will talk you into eating at his place (Forrest Bar) opposite Bistro Billys. We also drank the tap water with no ill effects. We found that the all inclusive packages were a ripoff as the local bars were so cheap and the local food better. You have to go into a bar to use the toilet and some have attendants that charge half a lev or so. For a laid back stay I would definately recommend Vlas.It was around 28 degrees until the last day or so when it dipped and clouded over.We will go a week or so earlier in future. Can't wait to go back.
