We have recently been to the Landford Poacher after many months and the food was excellent. Steaks or Pie are beautifully cooked and delicious

The only lunchtime we are currently closed is on a Monday when you visited. I am sorry we were not open for you. I would take a polite guess from understanding the above review that you are not familiar with Pubs in the UK. You were upset because we were closed on a Monday lunchtime. It can be the case that some smaller Pubs like us do not always open lunchtimes on Monday's in this country. As we were closed we did not have an opportunity to serve you and therefore it would of been impossible for you to have had poor service, however should you return I would endeavour to offer you our normally good service.

Popped in for first time in many years to try the Thursday steak night.
Lovely pint of crop circle, well kept in this warm weather, and wife loved the moretti lager.
The steaks were perfectly cooked with mushroom and tomato good portion of steak chips and onion rings.
Tasted lovely my wife loved the homemade peppercorn sauce.
We finished with a great cheeseboard and my wife devoured the cheesecake.
Landlord attentive friendly but not over the top.
Already planning on returning for the carvery

We have been using the Landford Poacher for about 8 years but this time was a great disappointment. Only two people on duty on a Sunday evening, service was poor, waiting time too long. Ham looked like it had been washed really funny colour, tasteless, portions very small for cost. Roast had obviously been reheated from lunchtime. Would not recommend and certainly not use again.

This is a very good place, one of the few eateries in this village. Locals are always here, making the atmosphere very cosy and pleasant. The staff were simply great: very obliging, nice, taking care of us all the time and making sure we had everything we needed. If you're in the area, totally recommended.
