“Brilliant campsite for both families and couples.”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

This is a lovely campsite that caters for everyone. I stayed in the Adults area where it is really nice and peaceful and even has a fishing lake. At the other side of the site there is a lovely kids play area and football field, games rooms and another fishing lake where the kids can fish. The showers and toilets are modern and clean. Staff are really friendly too and there is a nice little clubhouse with a bar where they show the football and run kids clubs which is good.

Room Tip: If you are a keen fisherman go for pitch 253!

This was our first camping trip with 2 children, and have to say the campsite was great. They have clearly spent money on the toilet/shower blocks. There was plenty of space, a good play area for the children. All in all a really good family campsite on the outskirts of the forest. I am sure we will come back.

Went at the end of the season last year and have returned at the beginning of the season this year. 2 adults, 2 children and the dog for the bank holiday weekend in early May.

Site is still great, lots of open space for the children to play, toilets & showers really clean and modern. Children made lots of friends, we barely saw them all weekend (there's probably someone writing a review elsewhere saying they were terrorised by a group of rampant uncontrolled children!). The site feels safe as most people are in family groups. It was quiet in the evenings. This will be the first of many weekend trips here this year.

The only thing I would say is to take lots of towels and stuff to clean your dog as the heathland outside of the site is still pretty muddy and the dog did get quite dirty.

We stayed for the first Easter holiday weekend with 3 other familes and all pitched together. Although the campsite was quiet in the family area the children amused themselves. I like the separate family and adult areas. We found the site very clean, the children's playarea is fab and the children made good use of it. It is right opposite the family area so perfect. The showers/toilets were always clean. Reception was friendly and helpful. All in all a great place and we'll be back.

Spent 4 nights camping here in August and extended our stay by an extra night it was so good. The facilities were very clean and modern and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The fishing lakes were a bit low on water but given the hot summer we have had its no surprise. Bar was small but positioned right next to the children's play area so parents can relax whilst the kids enjoy themselves. We have booked to stay there again for 10 nights in August 2014.

We stayed in the area of the campsite i believe was called the glade. There are no electric hook ups in this area but you do seem to get more room to pitch your tent. We did notice that some of the pitches with hook ups were on slopes so my advice would be if you really don't need electric then don't take it. There are Adults only areas on the site but this isn't because the site is anti children. The adults only areas are around the main fishing lakes and are adults only for health and safety reasons.

Surrounding area is "the new forest". Says it all really.

Book it, you wont be disappointed.

Spent a long weekend here at the end of the August, had a great time. We stayed in the field right at the bottom, there was so much space it was wonderful. The children were able to go quite a way from our tent but still be fully visible.

We only live 20 minutes away but it feels like somewhere you would have to travel hours to enjoy.

Stunning walks into the countryside through the back gate.

Toilets and showers were probably the best i've ever seen on a campsite. Obviously they get muddy through the day but that's part and parcel of going camping and they were cleaned really well.

Didn't get to use the pub/bar as we had our dog with us and couldn't leave him in the evenings but it was good to know it was there. We did use the take away one evening to save on cooking.

Had a great weekend, a bit gutted we only discovered this place so close to the end of the season.

Totally recommended.

Enjoyed a weeks holiday here, a short walk across the site leads straight into the new forest surrounded by wild life. The staff were friendly and helpful, the facilities on the family field are excellent. Will definitely stay here again, in fact my daughter is already asking when we are going again.
