We stayed here recently as we attending a wedding in the area. We had 11 rooms booked, a party of 23 guests. The staff were very friendly, courteous and the couple of minor problems we had, were sorted out immediately. The duty manager, Sebastian, is especially deserving of a mention, as for some reason, the key cards to our own room would not work and we had to spend over an hour in the corridor at 3am. Sebastian returned to the hotel, having only gone off duty at about 1.30am to sort the problem out. He was so apologetic and obviously exhausted!! He sorted it out and by way of apology waivered the cost of the room. We would definately stay here again and would recommend the hotel to any visitors to Galway.

We had a pre-wedding session away at this hotel and thought it would be very far from the city. However, we were assured by a lovely girl in the staff that it was just a cheap cab ride to the city and back and she was write. We were offered a residence bar when booking but came back to the arches hotel too late to avail of it unfortunatly. In our drunken states I have to say the staff dealed with us very well, keeped us quiet for fear of disterbing other guests and helping us to our rooms the poor lad. Food was exactly what it said on the tin. Exellently presented and tasted so good. The only think I would point out for future customers was that we seemed to be the only pre-wedding group there and it was otherwise a very touristy quite enough hotel in a scenic area but as long as they still cater for hens and stags needs then I say we had a great time and would sugest it hands down. Should be five star not tree. Bravo to the exellent staff making it so special,

I recently travelled here with a few friends. There were 3 of us in 1 room and we only got 1 key card. We asked for another and was told as the hotel was full they didn't have enough to go around. There were only 2 towels in the bathroom and when we were leaving for some sightseeing we asked for extra towels and we were told while we were away these would be placed in the room. They weren't. When we got back I had to ring down and they were immediately brought up then. Room was nice. Valance on bed could do with a wash. Bathroom gorgeous. Could do with different bath mats as the one in our room wasn't exactly clean! We didn't use the bar or have lunch or dinner here. Bar looks lovely, staff were friendly. If you can get room only go for it. Breakfast was a waste! No juices, cereals, fruit or breads laid out. When we arrived a lady behind the bar just asked if we wanted tea or coffee. And told us to work away with the cooked breakfast (buffet) I asked a waiter for boiled eggs. He looked confused. Rashers were cardboard. We ate @10.30am probably there since 7-8am. When the eggs eventually came out they were hard boiled! And we noticed other people with cereals and juice. So they were obviously given the option when we weren't.

Stooped for lunch today, the only positive I can say is that the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was poor, I ended up having about 5 chips and my companion did likewise and had some of her sandwich. I went to pay and said I'd pay for a sandwich only the waitress said no problem and did apologise but didn't ask what the problem was. So wouldn't recommend stopping for food.

Stopped off here today on our way home for lunch after being away in Westport for the weekend.

Very friendly staff, good service, good food and reasonably price.

It's worth stopping off here for a quick bite while on the road.

Room Tip: Trying to get back on the main road to continue your travel is murder, that's the only down fall...
