One of the few times that trip-advisor reviews have let me down and thought to write this review with a few facts, even if subjective.

I do stand by my opinion, this is not a bad place at all, but its also not great or fabulous, its just average and while I would still recommend it for staying I would do so with some caution.

It is in a good location and it is a great island in general to explore but these alone should not be enough for top rating. There are certainly areas the hotel could improve and its also not the best of the island as some other reviewers suggested, perhaps they meant best value for money but this depends a lot on the rate and season time.

Yes it also does have nice view from the terrace and from *some* of the room balconies of the rather small rooms and yes staff are friendly indeed, including the management who although seemed to be slightly pretentious/less genuinely happy to serve than the rest, still were sufficiently helpful with everything asked was promptly and politely responded to. This however should be the standard not something to brag about, after all this is supposed to be in a country famous for the "filoxenia"...

The rooms are small and their insulation non-existent, expect to hear everything from those next door so do try a corner room to only have one of them..

Otherwise they do have packed what you need, a small fridge(sufficient), air-conditioning (noisy), shower(sometimes no hot water depending on the time of day), usable balcony(small but nice), and the decor and furniture are rather tasteless and dated(doesn't matter really much, just don't stay in the room..go out), and the beds rather uncomfortable. Overall they are also kept well-cleaned up.

The breakfast has some variety but quality is far from where it could/should have been. Juices are from concentrate, one of the worst tasting ever, what a pity for a country with so many fruits. Coffee is filtered and very average tasting, if you wish an espresso or cappuccino they do offer but very quick to tell you that it will be at extra cost.., The ham / bacon of very low quality and so was the cereal.
A couple local and nice cheeses and good breads and honey were the positive highlight as were the oven(!)-fried eggs that you typically had to ask to bring more of.

In general you feel like the focus was minimizing cost rather than seeking a good value(which is line with everything else at this property), after a few days of no change we decided to skip the free (paid for) breakfast in the hotel and had breakfast elsewhere that was much better and very reasonably priced.

The location is very good, you can walk to the beach and several nearby shops and tavernas.

Parking on the nearby streets can be a challenge at busy times.

All in all an OK place to stay with friendly staff, blessed by great location and capitalising on it not having done enough to justify a five or four star rating.

Erofili might not be the most luxurious hotel but has the most welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. It is also extremely well managed. Rooms are small but functional and have everything you require including a/c, a fridge, a comfy bed, a good shower and a great balcony. the hotel is also in an ideal location. We thought about staying at Toxitos which is probably as good as Erofili but more expensive and on the wrong side of Armenistis.

Breakfasts in Greece, including in this hotel seem to polarise opinions! Pleased to see that our 2013 suggestion of heaters being placed under eggs and bacon to keep them warm had been implemented. However breakfast is still a weak link I think. Poor quality cereal, bread and tepid coffee was served more often than not. Quality of the juices is terrible. I know however that some of the other guests thought that the bread was good. It would also be nice if the option of toasted bread was made available. However we also decided to have a change from the hotel breakfast and went out to a local restaurant for breakfast which was ten times worse!

Apart from this everything else was fine although wifi was not available in our room due to some cabling problems but was easily accessible in the lobby area.

Nothing to do with the hotel but as a previous reviewer mentioned it was very irritating that the chairs and Umbrellas were not up at the nearest beach. Greece has to realise that the season begins before 1 July and tourist income will be lost in future years if this is not addressed. In addition, much to our dismay, the only supermarket in Armenistis had closed down although another is due to open soon.

From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel welcome and comfortable, we were so well looked after by every member of staff. This is a beautiful hotel in a suburb beach location, fantastic rooms, stunning views, comfortable beds, breakfast is very good indeed. We are very happy to strongly recommend this lovely hotel!

Room Tip: Any room with sea view is perfect!

We wanted a hotel which was in a quiet location but with access to a great beach and that is exactly what we got. The hotel staff are helpful and the room was larger than some we have had in Greece and was kept beautifully clean. The view was fabulous both from our balcony and from the hotel terrace which is a lovely place to sit (if a bit hot). The pool is adequate although not sure there would be enough sun beds if everyone stays by the pool. It's easy to swim from the rocks be,is the hotel but there are 2 beaches within an easy stroll. The better one is the farther away across the nearest beach. Well worth the extra 5 minutes. We thought breakfast was a bit of a scrum when the hotel got busier and a bit repetitive but overall it was ok. The hotel is just a stroll from the tavernas and a couple of bars which provided some pleasant evening meals. Don't choose this resort if you want somewhere lively - do choose it if you want a more authentic Greek experience. There was only 1 bus a day at 7 am and the roads did not encourage us to hire a car. It's a beautiful place for a relaxing holiday. We stayed 2 weeks.

Room Tip: We had a room on the first floor - great views
