We only stayed for two nights on our way back to UK but wish it had been longer. Richard and Vanessa have created the most wonderful place, full of atmosphere and character. It was a joy to stay here and so were the hosts - we felt as if we had stayed with friends. You would be missing a real treat if you failed to take advantage of the evening meal offered - it was sublime.

Cant add much more than the other recent positive reviews have said, but its worh reinforcing them. The hosts indeed have the potential of being like old friends, and this from us only having stayed there for less than 24 hours! The decor is cleverly thought out and intriguing. the attention to detail is great - even self-printed/ designed labels (am i right Vanessa?!) on the bathroom toiletries We didnt eperience breakfast or local restaurants as it was literally a flying visit. Welcome drink and chat was most welcome. We had eaten lunch late so took advantage of Richards offer of a cheeseboard and bottle of wine. It was the last night of our 2 week hol, so relaxing with these, and a game of monopoly turned out to be very perfect for us.
Wish Id seen the owls and more of the other menagerie that they have there (chickens, doves, dogs, cats)!
Would love to return again and spend more quality time there.
For me, i would have liked a TV, but i understand why they may not want to do this, it would just be a nice touch to have a TV and a DVD library to select from downstairs.

Room Tip: any- all have different appeal

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Mansion De Plumes; we had a truly amazing time.

Firstly, Richard and Vanessa are the most welcoming hosts you could ask for; it felt like we were staying with friends. They went out of their way to ensure that we had everything we needed to have a wonderful mini-break. On our first night we arrived too late to order dinner and Richard sat down with us and talked through all the options over a complementary glass of wine. He also offered to make reservations for us at nearby restaurants. In the end we went to the village bistro; this served really simple, good quality French food and decent wine at very reasonable prices.

On our second and final night we had dinner at the Mansion De Plumes; the dinner which comprised of 5 courses was excellent. Each course was the perfect amount of food and absolutely faultless. The amuse bouche of red onion and truffle espresso was incredible, followed by grilled brioche with cheese – also fantastic – a main course of pork with Dijon sauce and potato (equally superb), and excellent cheese board and lemon cheesecake dessert with fantastic layers of flavour and depth. We have paid much, much more in far more renowned restaurants for much less.

We stayed in the Flamingo room, which is both beautiful and very large. We thought that our bed at home was comfortable but the bed in the Flamingo room was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in! We slept so well on both nights. The area is so tranquil and yet close enough to plenty of sights and attractions; and not far off the autoroutes to get further afield or if you are travelling to/from elsewhere.

Set in a French village the Masion De Plumes is the perfect location for a romantic getaway.

We will definitely be going back as soon as we can!!!!

Peaceful and quiet setting. Very warm welcome by the hosts. Daredevil room decorations give it a unique character. Original wooden floor would have been better than carpet. Breakfast meeting expectations (athough fresh orange juice would have made it even better). Candle light dinner offering would take it to the next level, since there are not that many restaurants in the neighberhood. Limited sightseeing options around, but an ideal transit location.

This was our sixth stay with Vanessa & Richard, introducing another new couple to this unique B & B. As always the welcome and the accomodation were excellent. We were quickly made to feel welcome with our welcome drink and made to feel like old friends. Later relaxing with a few bottles of wine and beers on the back terrace enjoying the peace and quiet of the rural French countryside.First evening in local Bistro that they will recommend is good value, service and typically french an within walking distance. Richard's expertise in the kitchen once again surpassed itself with a sumptious five course dinner served in the elegant art deco dining room (designed by Vanessa as the rest of the public areas). Followed by excellent continental breakfast crowned by the amazing scrambled eggs (which are a must). Beds are so comfortable and sumptious and design of each room is unique which means you have to return time and time again. Excellent afternoon playing badminton in the garden just before finishing off with a round of amazing house cocktails which are another must. Having suffered a minor puncture Richard's assistance was invaluable and just part of the wondreful service you will receive from this fantastic couple and their establishment.

Room Tip: Need to keep going back and try them all as each is unique

Only one night but how fantastic. I arranged birthday party for my partner along with her friends and family.
I can’t think of any way the stay could be improved.
Accommodation so ‘over the top’ but fantastic. Clean and very comfortable.
Welcome: so friendly. Nothing too much trouble.
Couple of our guests felt the meal was the best they had ever tasted. Every course a delight.
House wine very good as well.
And the cheese!!!!
As I was paying for all seven of us I will add very good value for money.
We travelled from North Essex. It was only 148 miles. EuroTunnel £58.
What a fantastic time – Thank you

Room Tip: As we booked all the rooms I can say they are all excelent

My partner and I stayed one night on a stopover at this unique and beautiful intimate hotel. We had the pleasure of staying in one of the most luxurious rooms, very decadent art deco design(the swan suite), with all the trimmings one could ask, not to mention our own private entrance. It was a shame we only had one night as we truely didnt get to experience all the features and would recommend a few nights relaxing stay to enjoy the scenery, hospitality and tranquility of being away from the hussle and bussle of the city. On the other hand we did get the star treatment from our hosts Richard and Vanessa who went out of their way to make our stay as pleasurable and comfortable as it could be. Well worth the stay and fantastic hospitality from our hosts, as this is a unique boutique hotel one must venture out to for a relaxing and romantic days away from life in the city or just to stay at a very art deco surroundings.

Room Tip: all rooms are so unique depending on preference and do check out the website pics to choose your fav...
