We stayed as 2 couples for our last night in France, the Guest house is in a small village, a bit remote from other restaurants and bars, but that said, if you time it right, you do not need anywhere else to go. they open the door at 5pm, and we had a warm welcome from R & V, our rooms were clean and very comfortable, ( tea & coffee facilities would have been nice ) after our long drive we were all very thirsty, but there is no bar, and pre dinner drinks are at 7.30pm.

Dinner was a social affair, with all guests at 1 table, and the conversation flowed, there is a small selection of House wines at 15 euro a bottle. food was all very nice, but we were not offered any options ( we had pork ). the cheese was introduced and explained very well, and the 10 of us at the table could have eaten it again, not a morsel was left.

Breakfast was also good

the rooms were quiet and very large.

A certain theme of decor runs throughout the Guest House, and a lot of time and money has gone into making it as good as it is.

As many Guests have traveled a long way to stay there, maybe a small Honesty bar in the lounge would be a good idea, as there is only 5 rooms it should be controllable.

We had a lovely evening talking to other guests and remember the colour of our room for a long while.

Room Tip: ask for a Garden facing room

I just wanted to correct a couple of the points flagged by these guests. We do have a bar and brasserie within walking distance of the house (5 or so mins) In our welcome letter we point out that tea and coffee is available all day, free of charge, all you need to do is ask and it will be provided. The same can be said about any drinks, including house wine (€3.00 per glass or €15.00 per bottle) All guests are offered a free welcome drink upon arrival. It is also made very clear, when guests book dinner, that it is served table d'hôtes style. This means it is a set menu, served at a communal table. We do, however, cater for many dietery requirements if we are given the notice we ask for.

We spent 4 nights at Maison de Plumes and had a wonderful time. The place is enchanting and Richard and Vanessa really cared for us as guests. The evening dinner was an experience to savour. We hope to return for longer later in the year.

We stayed with Richard and Vanessa overnight in April and were treated to a fantastic experience. The hotel was fully booked so we met new friends as is the custom with R&V. We all dined together in the evening where the conversation (and the wine) flowed beautifully while R&V served a superb four course meal.

The art deco styling is to the highest standard throughout and had it been a little warmer we would have taken advantage of the rear deck and possibly even the outdoor jacquzzi !!

Pas de Calais is a very interesting region with the historic village of Azincourt just 10 minutes away from Heuchin and Arras a further 30 minutes by car.

Would thoroughly recommend Maison de Plumes and its wonderful owners.

We went with my sister and brother in law for a two night stay a Maison de plumes in March and it was everything I had read in the reviews. They had the Swan suite and we had the Peacock room. The rooms were lovely and the beds big and comfortable, Richard and Venessa are fantastic hosts, on arrival they offered us drinks in the sitting room so we could unwind after our drive down. On the Saturday evening Richard made us a very impressive dinner, he also explained about the cheeses he had for us to try. I recommend his scrambled eggs for breakfast very tasty. You will not be dissapointed with your stay at Maison de Plumes it is a lovely relaxing break and I wish Richard and Venessa all the very best as they are the a lovely couple.

We had a wonderful stay. Stunning rooms, breathtaking lounge and dining room and Richard and Vanessa we the best hosts one could hope for. Would recommend this hotel to any couple looking for a classy intimate weekend away without breaking the bank, just a 40 minute drive from the channel tunnel but a world away from home.

Room Tip: No swimming pool or fitness centre

We have just had, as usual and amazing two night stay at Maison de Plumes. Reason for returning for seventh trip was of course the stunning house with its perfect host Vanessa and Richard.

Doesn't matter whether returning or first time guests you will receive a great welcome into a great atmoshere, luxurious accomodation and the most sumptious beds for a great nights sleep.

We went with friends we have introduced and friends they have introduced and took all of the 5 rooms for this weekend. As usual Richard did not disappoint with a fabulous Dinner on Saturday night some old favourites and as always fabulous cheeses explained in detail.

For breakfast the scrambled eggs are a must.

Nothing is too much trouble and Richard and Vanessa balance everything just right from the decor to hosting. Choose the room to suit your personality but all are sumptious, comfortable and stunning.

We have stayed all times of the year and whether snuggled in the sitting room, enjoying the fantastic dining room or chilling on the deck with drinks you will completly forget troubles and woes and have full relaxation. Done delay just book we certainly will be returning for visit number 8.

Room Tip: Have to go at least 5 times to try each of the rooms as all are unique.
