My husband and I stayed at the spacious studio on the ground floor for 3.5 days and had a wonderful experience. The location is perfect - the window looks out on the river and there is a huge lawn with tables, chairs, easy chairs for dining or lounging. There is also a barbeque. The room is large, lovely and comfortable. The double bed is a bit on the hard side which was perfect for us. The kitchen is small but very well equipped. And the biggest asset are the owners, Davis and Liz who are friendly and helpful and knowlegeble and made sure our stay was memorable. Liz prepared the bikes for us which we took on a local 8km circuit and to the Saturday market. David provided maps and directions to the chateaus in the area - there are many within short driving distance. We started with the local one, Cande, which is charming and has breathtaking views and short hiking routes. There are also several wonderful restaurants close by, two of them right across the street. WiFi was working well. No TV - which is a plus. We really want to go back there, with friends - there is also a 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor. Highly recommended!
Our kind hosts David and Lise advised us on all the wonderful places to visit. The watermill flat backed on to a large family friendly garden with games and bikes, plus canoes for trips on the river. A wonderful idyllic week's stay.
Great Welcome, nice people, plenty of local information to plan your stay ,fantastic rustic location with loads of character, fantastic setting for a great chill out holiday, would go back.
Had a wonderful stay at the mill , David and Lisa thankyou for your hospitality ,
The gite was in a lovely setting over the water , perfect for drinking a glass of wine ,hopefully we will return
We rented the lower apartment for a week. The accommodation reflects what it is - part of a very old mill not a chic new, state of the art, place - but it is very well laid out and ideal for a couple with a large lounge/bedroom with a galley kitchen in the corner and separate shower/WC room en suite. The owners, Lise and David, could not have been more hospitable and Lise's comprehensive briefing on our arrival actually decided our itinerary for the week. They live in the building attached but are never intrusive and it works well. Their recommendations for visits and where to eat were spot on with our highlights being the Chateaus (Villandry's gardens really are superb and Chenonceau is breathtaking) plus a day trip by bus/train to Tours which was great fun. The mill has its own bikes, kayaks and BBQ which we used and the cycle to Azay-le-Rideau (lovely chateau) and paddle down the river were memorable. All in all, a great place and we are most grateful to Lise and David for making us so welcome and for being so helpful.
We loved staying here. It’s a great base to see the area. And, when you’re sitting out back, looking over the river, looking out over the lush yard, you feel a million miles away. David and Lise were wonderful hosts and created a wonderful place we called home for 5 days. They were great at helping us plan our days and made our time there so enjoyable. When we arrived, they had a wonderful loaf of bread, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of the most amazing local apple juice. We received a great orientation to the area and sites with detailed maps. We highly recommend staying – you will not regret it and plan a second trip just as we are. If quite is important to you, check to see if the upper 2-bedroom unit will be rented – depending on your needs, it could be a little loud. No big issue for us. Thank you David and Lise – you really made our time in the Loire memorable.

My husband and I wanted to stay in a quaint French village close to the wonders of the Loire Valley chateaux, but away from the fray of the tourist spots, so we picked Monts. Luckily (and thanks to TripAdvisor) we found le moulin de Monts water mill for our stay. It was perfect for us: great location; nice setting (over the river); comfortable accommodations; and friendly and helpful owners to help us plan our five days in the area. The apartment is fairly basic, but is clean and comfortable. David and Lise went out of their way to make sure our stay was what we had hoped for. Le moulin de Monts apartment was one of the highlights of our trip.
