Loved this little peaceful place! Spotlessly clean and rooms are a great size. Good balcony for chilling. Pool area was great. Nice little pool bar serving drinks and snacks. Plenty of sun loungers and the pool gets the sun until it dips behind the mountain. Such a peacful location only 15 minutes walk down to the beach and tavernas. I read a reveiw that said the walk is hard and up hill!! I can honestly say the guy obviously didnt stay at oscars cause its not up hill at all and is pretty flat. The owners are lovely and really made our stay special. Ate out everynight but did use the pool bar during the day. Really good prices. Loved it that much we ahve ready booked again for next year! Thanks to all the staff for a relaxing, peacefull and amazing stay and will see you all next year. Ohhh and you will snoopy as well. :)

We stayed in this lovely location the last two weeks in June 2017. This was on a self catering basis and we were located in the studio block. From the moment we were dropped of by the coach to the moment we left we were made so welcome by George, Katerina and Dionysis. They could not do enough for you without being pushy and let you get on with enjoying your holiday.
We spent most of the days at the beautiful beach in Alykes or sight seeing, but spent the odd day at the pool.
The pool is lovely and is half shallow and half deep so those with young kids can relax. There are lots of sunbeds and they are comfy. There is a pool bar which is well stocked and serves decent snacks. This is an ideal place to have a refreshing drink either pre dinner in Alykes or after returning from a hard day on the beach.
Self catering accommodation in Greece is basis so first time visitors please be aware of this. In Oscars you have a decent sized kitchenette with the standard 2-burner hob, large fridge with ice compartment, kettle and a good collection of plates, cutlery etc. Please bear in mind that you are on your holidays so cooking 3-course meals is impossible and surely not expected. Alykes has such a choice of quality restaurants at such good prices you will love it.
Bathroom is larger than most and has a shower (with a curtain) and a good supply of hot water. The main bedroom is large with good storage and a very efficient air conditioning unit. The air con costs extra and is worth every penny. The balcony is large, very private and offers a great opportunity to catch the last of the evening sun. We were in studio 3 but is returning again, which we definitely will, would not be vexed to be allocated any of the 8 on offer.
The studios are located on the Alykes-Katastari road. There is little if any road noise and a good night sleep was always on offer. 5 minutes walk takes you to Katastari where you will find an excellent supermarket, a decent pharmacy and a marvellous bakery. 10-15 minutes the other way takes you to Alykes where you will find a vast choice of decent tavernas selling excellent quality fare at very reasonable prices. This isn't the time or the place to single any out, but suffice to say in the 14 days we were there we didn't have a bad meal. The reason I say 10-15 minutes is that there is so much to see. Be it the fruit, the flowers, the chickens or the friendly locals, there is plenty to distract you on the way down the road.
If you are looking for an authentic Greek hostelry in a quiet location with superb hospitality then you will be hard pressed to find better. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and hope that you will stay here and enjoy the hospitality that we did.

Room tip: All rooms are good.

Well a beautiful location about 10/15 minutes walk to Alykes village or Katasari the other way. Set in a rural location with olive groves and fields all around with a drop back of the mountains of Zante.

I stayed in the studios but was upgraded to a superior studio for my stay which was typical Greek self catering accommodation with the added bonus of a beautiful bathroom and an amazing shower with tray, yes a shower tray.

Fridge, hob, toaster and kettle plus the utensils you will need were all in place and on arrival there was a bottle of wine and a big bottle of water in the fridge which arriving late evening was a godsend.

I used it as a base to explore the area but also visit friends from previous trips plus try all the beautiful tavernas and bars.

The pool and snack bar area were well maintained and clean however I did not use it as being early season it was very quiet and early May pools can be very cold.

Overall I would recommend this accommodation as the price was very competitive compared to other accommodation plus it was with Jet2 which meant I could fly from my local airport.

And questions please ask.

had a very cheap package holiday with jet 2 for 7 nights end of August and stayed in a standard studio.

pros
good quiet aircon at €10 per night
hot water at all times of day including when the sun went down, which can be a rarity in Greece
large balcony to sit out with a small washing line

cons
bed a little hard
not the hotel's fault -but noisy cockerels very early in the morning
bathroom very small and only small window sill to put items on
a shower curtain surrounds the shower so helps a little but floor still gets very wet
self catering - two ring electric hob, toaster and kettle. If you are relying to do a lot of cooking then you will be very disappointed.
you get one frying pan and one massive pot with a lid. There are no utensils for frying eggs or mashing potatoes etc, just a wooden spoon and 2 knives, forks and spoons, so heating up baked beans or scrambled eggs is very hard unless you use the frying pan.
there is a smoke alarm above the cooker (???) so be aware that if you do cook/use the toaster then it will activate a loud ear piercing noise. Opening the front door will help as the kitchen is near the door - something to be aware of if coming in late and fancy a snack
pool area is small and the sun beds are lined around it with no room to maneuver but there were always beds available
it is a 15 - 20 min walk to town, fine in the evening but a bit tiring in the heat of the day
The beach is also about a 15 - 20 min walk away

A quick note to cycling enthusiasts - there is an excellent cycle hire company in Zante Town called Podilatadiko and offer very good rates and all types of good quality bikes - I would definitely recommend it. Zante is a small island and you can cycle to lots of places

Room tip: if you want to mostly self cater then consider upgrading

We booked with jet 2 and were put in the economy block which is exactly that. The room was basic even for Greece.Very old dark brown furniture and hardly any kitchen equipment. The pool area was quite nice and well kept but the main reason we wouldn't return were the owners. They have a pool bar through the day which we used a few times and on a night have a bar next door.We didn't use the bar on a night as we prefer to go into the village and because we didn't spend money in there we were virtually ignored for the whole holiday.George the owner was blatantly rude ignoring us when we said good morning.Katerina spoke to everybody coming back from their days out asking if they had had a nice day apart from us.We were made to feel very unwelcome which I have never experienced before in many years of going to Greece.
