We stayed in this lovely location the last two weeks in June 2017. This was on a self catering basis and we were located in the studio block. From the moment we were dropped of by the coach to the moment we left we were made so welcome by George, Katerina and Dionysis. They could not do enough for you without being pushy and let you get on with enjoying your holiday.
We spent most of the days at the beautiful beach in Alykes or sight seeing, but spent the odd day at the pool.
The pool is lovely and is half shallow and half deep so those with young kids can relax. There are lots of sunbeds and they are comfy. There is a pool bar which is well stocked and serves decent snacks. This is an ideal place to have a refreshing drink either pre dinner in Alykes or after returning from a hard day on the beach.
Self catering accommodation in Greece is basis so first time visitors please be aware of this. In Oscars you have a decent sized kitchenette with the standard 2-burner hob, large fridge with ice compartment, kettle and a good collection of plates, cutlery etc. Please bear in mind that you are on your holidays so cooking 3-course meals is impossible and surely not expected. Alykes has such a choice of quality restaurants at such good prices you will love it.
Bathroom is larger than most and has a shower (with a curtain) and a good supply of hot water. The main bedroom is large with good storage and a very efficient air conditioning unit. The air con costs extra and is worth every penny. The balcony is large, very private and offers a great opportunity to catch the last of the evening sun. We were in studio 3 but is returning again, which we definitely will, would not be vexed to be allocated any of the 8 on offer.
The studios are located on the Alykes-Katastari road. There is little if any road noise and a good night sleep was always on offer. 5 minutes walk takes you to Katastari where you will find an excellent supermarket, a decent pharmacy and a marvellous bakery. 10-15 minutes the other way takes you to Alykes where you will find a vast choice of decent tavernas selling excellent quality fare at very reasonable prices. This isn't the time or the place to single any out, but suffice to say in the 14 days we were there we didn't have a bad meal. The reason I say 10-15 minutes is that there is so much to see. Be it the fruit, the flowers, the chickens or the friendly locals, there is plenty to distract you on the way down the road.
If you are looking for an authentic Greek hostelry in a quiet location with superb hospitality then you will be hard pressed to find better. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and hope that you will stay here and enjoy the hospitality that we did.
