Having been to Alykes a couple of times previously, we knew what to expect in terms of the resort. We also expected to have a couple of rainy days as it was mid October and our expectations were met!. I actually thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular storm on the 16th October, being so close to the sea made for a ringside view. We stayed at Beach House 1 so had a gorgeous seaside location. When our next door neighbours allowed us, it was wonderfully quiet with just the sound of the sea. Unfortunately, the neighbours played opera music fairly loudly , even resulting in us having to ask them to turn it down on one occasion so we could sleep. What is wrong with these people, if you want music and entertainment, why not stay in a noisy hotel. The apartment was basic but very clean. I would have preferred the sheets to have been changed more regularly, I'm not even sure if they were changed at all during our week's stay as. On the third day, my husband had a shaving accident and a few drops of blood fell onto the sheet. Although the drops moved around when the lovely housekeeping ladies made up the beds, it was still there when we left. I wouldn't want to stay in room 2 again as although it was central and provided a lovely view, it was right on the access path so lacked a bit of privacy, nothing major though. The balcony was a good size with a very thoughtful little washing line provided. We didn't see a great deal of our hosts, when the coach dropped us off, it was a case of you're in room 2, your key is in the door. Thoughtfully though, there are quite good notes left in the room to sort out safe key and air con. Overall I would stay again but would request an end room preferably on the first floor. We were unlucky with our neighbours and the noise pollution they created but if it is tranquillity you are after, generally speaking I would recommend the Beach House without hesitation.
