“No room at the inn”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014 via mobile

Having booked a table for 4 to take friends out for their wedding anniversary last night (24 May) we turned up looking forward to a nice meal and evening out. On arrival at the restaurant we were informed there was no table booked, on challenging this insisting I had booked, incredibly the manager said 'this happens all the time'!! Apparently calls to the restaurant when they are not open are taken by the pub next door (The Salt House) - which they also own - and are not being passed onto the restaurant so if this is a regular occurence why don't they sort it out!! My advice if you must take the gamble is to make sure you remind them to write your booking down and ring before you turn up...no way to run a business.

“Not a great experience”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2014 via mobile

Some years since we last visited, reasonable standard of food, let down by indifferent service, food order not fully met, drinks didn't arrive during course of meal, will not return, there is plenty competition nearby.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2014

We have been here a few times over the years and we were very disappointed tonight. The place is very dated, and so was the food. They couldn't even knock up a standard bruschetta, it was very basic and the tomatoes were even burnt?! Sad to say we won't be returning.

“Consistently good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

Went on Christmas Eve with the family. There is a good menu and an interesting specials board, I think each of us ordered at least one special. I had the scallops on bubble and squeak cake to start followed by a blue cheese and bacon pasta. Both were well presented and decent sized portions. House wine is very drinkable and though they don't have draft beer they will get them from the bar next door for you.

“Regular haunt”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013 via mobile

Yet again a well served meal in a busy seafront restaurant on a cold Thursday night. The staff take time to look after you ensure you enjoy your meal no matter how busy.
I would strongly suggest booking for the end of the week as it gets busy, more so in the run in to Xmas.
A wide selection of well priced meals across full Italian range, look at the chalk board for additional options.
