I loved this hotel - the food was excellent, the rooms comfortable and clean and in a wonderful location. But most of all, the staff were always on hand to help out - no matter what the request. I will most certainly be back.

We only stayed one night, but what a lovely small hotel. Beautifully refurbished Bedrooms with very classy ensuite bathrooms. Our only quibble is the room we had could do with either a net/voile over the window for a bit of privacy instead of drawing the curtains early.
Breakfast was all local produce and was fabulous. The beer garden overlooked the harbour. Only a 5 minute walk down hill to the harbour where you can see dolphins off the harbour wall.

Room Tip: All rooms are good but sea view are best.

Popped in at 8.50pm last friday searching for a meal, no problem they said even with just 10 mins left to taking last food orders. Stunning Steaks & fab homemade chips with vegetable skewers. Beer excellent, table by the window so we could hear singer & guitarist. Bar & WC all very clean & great re-burishment done. Perfect ending to a very rushed day. Cheers guys will visit again soon

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend in July 2013 and it’s absolutely stunning. You can tell that it has very recently been refurbished. Room 7 is a big, bright, triple aspect room with a lovely sea view. When we arrived we were concerned about noise but we left the windows open all night and there was only a little early morning noise (understandable given the location). The breakfast was really good and the service was fast, friendly and attentive.

If you’re staying in the New Quay area, this is definitely the only place to stay!

Room Tip: Room 7 is triple aspect with a lovely sea view. The only downside is that, with the curtains open, p...

Visited the pub, not the hotel while on a holiday in New Quay.

A lovely pub at the top of the hill in New Quay, reputed to be Dylan Thomas' favourite watering hole in the town.

Excellent pints, lovely decor, absolutely huge beer garden and very good entertainment on the first night we visited.

Would have easily been a 5 star review, but there the bar staff were exceedingly slow in serving our drinks at the bar, which resulted in a wait of 15 minutes per round.

Other than this, the pub was absolutely excellent. Will visit again when we return in the Autumn.

Just back from a great 3 days, stayed in room 9 with view over the gardens and bay. Recently been refurbished to a high standard, room was very smartly decorated with great en suite. Lovely big white towels which are replaced when requested. Good breakfast but could have been a bit more organised. The gardens are lovely to sit and take in the view with a drink or snack. There was a guitarist/singer on the Friday night but think a group would be more entertaining. There is a short downhill walk to the Quay but great view on the way. Newquay is an unspoilt quaint place still and we watched the Dolphins from the Quayside. The owner should be congratulated for the superb refurb and making the most of the position the Black Inn has. Free Wi-fi from the downstairs but due to the thick wall you cannot get it in the rooms but the owner is working on this. definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Rom 9 is the most sought after but cannot comment on other rooms and didn't see them. Understan...
